What cheeses me off

What cheeses me off is how payments from credit cards are instantaneous but refunds can take weeks and sometimes months.

It's almost like the business doesn't want to return the funds?
I think from a directors' point of view (I see it here where I work, large hotel) that the refund sort of turns into a new regular bill they have to pay and can only clear when the cash flow is good enough. Just tough times at the moment, would not like to be in their shoes since the onset of COVID.

Cars travelling under the speed limit but increase speed when you overtake them.

Note I do mostly drive under the speed limit but move out of the way if someone going faster approaches.
Which is why I liked driving in the USA. Much more considerate drivers apart from the major cities especially Boston.
Where 2 lane's merged into 1 a slower driver generally eased off to let me pass.

I do this all the time sometimes even stopping on side of road waiting for cars behind to pass.

We used to have considerate drivers here but most are just selfish now.

Oh before the freeway traversed from Melbourne to Bendigo the 80 drivers used to peeve me the most. 80 on the highway. Get into a town where there might even be some double lanes in which you could overtake, and they'd still cruise along at 80 in a 60 zone. You'd have no hope of overtaking because you don't believe in voluntary taxation and slow to 60. Leave town, catch them up again they're still doing 80 ....

When you get an email newsletter and they don't have a link so you can open it in your browser

When a presenter opens their PowerPoint and you have to see their slides/notes while they fiddle around trying to find the F5 or the 'start show' button.
Just save it as a PPS rather than a PPT and it will automatically start as a slideshow, FFS!
That’s one of my pet hates as well and I always make sure the organisers know it’s their responsibility to have the connections set up properly when I give a talk. But I didn’t know the PPS thing. Thanks 😊

Hahaha. Grrrrrr..... :)

Today’s cheese on toast experience.

Family standing in the queue to order at a cafe. Only looked at the menu when they’re at the front of the queue. Then starts a discussion of who wants what on and on and of course the kids can’t decide and change their minds.

Then of course was the time I was in Saudi Arabia with a colleague on work. We went to McDonald’s - yes McDonald’s, you need a bit of downtime in Saudi Arabia. I assure you the shop and the counter at McDonald’s in Riyadh was just the same as anywhere else ( except for maybe no pork or bacon).

Colleague gets to the counter, looks up at the (stock standard) selection, thinks and thinks and wonders and frowns and then asks “do you have any bitter lemon?” 🙄 Guy behind the counter was utterly confused, not surprisingly.

People booking last minute to the extent of booking out the hotel, so there's virtually no chance of an upgrade

What cheeses me off: people taking threads off topic for no good reason.

Now, have I mentioned the delays, service issues and call centre problems with…. 😉

Today's cheesed off coffee experience:

Cheeses me off when small coffee shops, only one person there, constantly stop to take new orders as people walk in. Starts to make coffee ... stops and takes a new order; rinse, repeat. What should be a wait of a few minutes turns into 5-10.
