What cheeses me off

WCMO at school was probability
Drs have a duty to explain risk to patients. All good in theory but always wondered how patients would perceive risk of something happening.
What does 1 in 1000 or 10000 really mean?

One patient cleared it up for me. She said basically whatever the risk is, the real risk is 50:50. Its either going to happen or its not... :D

I have a Cicles phone plan 100GB for $38/month. Think they let me have an extra 3GB for free but then start charging $10 for each 3GB. This is Optus mentality. Who in their right mind wants to pay $10 for 3GB? Can I get that feature turned off? Nope.

I'm not sure what the 103GB equates to in terms of the the data usage reading. Could be 107GB? Anyway I stop using internet data when I get to 98-99 GB. I am not giving them an extra cent.

I think TPG is the same. Daughter has 60GB for $20 each month on prepaid and TPG offers 1GB or 2GB for $10 if you go over. My daughter usually finishes allowance 3-4 days early and then uses my allowance. TPG actually take that extra money if you have any funds in account so we just let them take renewal.

When you tell you friend to book flights 6 months ago when there was plenty of availability and roundtrip was US$129, but they didn't (but said they did) and now looking a week out same flights are US$800+ so cant afford to book.

Is it true I can use velocity points to book for anyone (i.e. not a family member)? If they fly home 1 day later looks like I can get flights on UA for AU$20 in taxes but they would need to find an extra nights accommodation.

What happened to the 7pm kickoff time for major sporting events? I would like to say the kids would enjoy watching a full game, but it’s even getting too late for me to watch to the end😴

WC'edMO was when we couldnt see AFL matches until 8.30pm because we had to watch better homes and gardens show. We can handle 7.30pm.

WCMO today. Need to get in touch with University of Tasmania Geology (Earth Sciences) office. Nothing on the web.

Call central number, ask to be transferred. Sounds of papers rustling. Says "sorry, a lot of paperwork to go through". Eventually connects me.

Its the biology department.

Call back. Different person. This time I ask for the direct number. "Sorry, its not in the public web site, I can't give it out." FFS.

OK, can you connect me, but can you make sure its geology answering before you put me though, please.

Long wait - "sorry they didn't answer".

Me: So, I'll have to call you back later and we'll have to do all this again?

Yes.

This is a tertiary institution.

If like other regional uni’s, they won’t have a generic department point of contact. Department admin staff went a long time ago. Plus geology might have a sexy name now and fit in a new institute, research centre or an enormous faculty.

Fair comment, but in this case they do - I was in there talking to them the other day. And yes, I asked for "Earth Sciences office within Natural Sciences" :)

WCMO is that ridiculous concept of key numbers randomly placed on eftpos terminals and you have to key in your PIN for whatever reason - like get a skin full and try mastering it late at night with 68yo peepers that were never real good from the get go

I selected my window seat 5A on tomorrows flight over 6 months ago and it was still showing as such last night. Check in just opened and I've been moved to a sucky 5F (no window and sleeping next to some random i.e. wont get any sleep looking at a stranger all flight) and the only other seat available is a worse 2F next to bassinette.

Which number do I call to complain? I want to know what entitled person who didn't plan ahead stole my seat (it was a single so cant be a couple claiming they need to sit together)

Weirdly when I go to MMB it still shows I have 5A

@TheInsider would it be due to a broken seat? And if so as a platinum surely I should be given another window ahead of a lower status pax?

Qantas

MMB shows 5A my boarding pass 5F and when I go to change seats nothing but 2F free. And i checked in the minute it opened.
