What cheeses me off

What were your thoughts/impressions of HI Express Baruna @JohnK ?
(we are doing an overnighter in June)
Really nice. Less than 10 minutes from airport although it may have taken 15 minutes in the evening to go back to airport. Free shuttle to/from airport. I think room is 24m². Huge great room for free breakfast with quite a few choices.

Thanks @JohnK - suits our needs for our late arrival. Hotel has emailed through directions to meet the shuttle 😉

SQ airfare SYD-SIN-BKK in June returning early July is $1113 for adult and $827 for child. Perfect. Doing it this way to avoid the Brisbane school holiday hefty surcharge which increases to $1700 per person return. We'll need to pay to get to/from SYD but it's still much cheaper and this way family spends a few days with daughter.

I have $1200 Flybuys dollars in one account. Checking same airfare on Flybuys last week and the exact same flights were $1198 so $85 more. Ok no worries I'll wear the $85 and get airfare. Check again today and same airfares are now $1270. My goodness.

Check Webjet and it's $1325 return but not even offering the departure out of BKK that I want.

I do not understand the inconsistency. Do they have limited airfares for sale? I was hoping to just pay for 2 airfares and get the 3rd airfare free but now that's going to cost me $160 extra. I'm not sure it makes sense to wait as airfares can only increase.

Depends on how many seats available in each fare bucket I'd say.

Early last year I needed a one way from BNE>SIN and found trip.com hundreds $ cheaper for same seat on same plane than booking on the airlines own site. Not sure how that can be?

Happens a lot, use it to your advantage with BA as they have a guarantee and will issue a voucher for the difference. Use it quite a bit.

I feel confident that the Los Angeles Department Of Power And Water (LADWP) are still using the lowest bidder for their website. Same as in 2010 and still clunky.

They maybe forgoing commissions to boost volumes. There are quite a few OTAs on Skyscanner with cheap(ish) airfares.

I think best to avoid just in case there are issues. In fact last year when we had ~17 hour delay with Scoot both Webjet and Expedia were useless.

WCMO is that today for no apparent reason Facebook Android app has decided you can only include one photo per post (it was working fine yesterday). And if you work around it by uploading multiple pictures to an album, you can't go back and edit if you miss a photo.

Why make an app less usable?

I think that's the sole purpose of all IT designers. Design into obsolescence. They think it works, the consumer think it fails.

WCMO #2 get told to go to gate, then after you get there they announce a delay as no crew.

Worst flight to be late since already arrives at an ungodly hour and I have an early morning appointment.

If it wasn't such a hike and there was clarity on departure I'd go back to the F Lounge but looking around at the abuse of carry-on I dare not go lest I board after all bin space us gone.

You should have spoken in Hindi🤷🏼
Why does Woolworths list it under M on their self-checkouts?
I don't bother. I use Scan and Go and by the sounds of it I'm the only one in the area. No need to select through a menu. When I buy veggies on the occasion that I do (Harris farm always better), I put it on the veggies scales (not checkout scales) and it recognises the Item because it has cameras and up comes a barcode which I scan with the Scan and Go function of the Woolies App. That's it.

I used scan and go to check a price once but didn't add it to the basket. I noted the weight. When I went through self checkout it had a different weight. I brought it to the attention of the staff member, whose reaction I'd compare with 'I don't give a rats' 😂

Too many steps.
Scan and go for per kg fruit and veg: weigh, scan QR code, bag

No need to identify item - the camera identifies it.

. However, once I scanned some herbs. Mrs QS said why did you buy coriander I told you to buy parsley. The barcode is at the back of packet . I didn't read the front. It's all about the barcode... but to be fair, coriander does look like parsley 🤣

Yep. Used scan and go lots of times for everything. But sometimes when I’m shopping I can’t be bothered getting out the phone. 🤷‍♀️

The best part about Scan & Go is being able to skip the line when it's busy.

On that note, WCMO is when your transaction gets stopped for an audit and all the convenience is suddenly lost, depending on how quickly they get someone to come over.

Always been quick even with the random check of 3-5 random items as the attendant who does that it the self check out attendant who is standing in a spot immediately adjacent to S&G. If anything the random checks make the self checkouts even slower.

The bags don't leave the trolley from the time I enter Woolies until I get to car.

WCMO is Woolies don't put it in more stores

Depends on the store. Ours requires someone to come over from customer service even though the self checkout is right next to this gate. The customer service desk is also busy with small shops. Although maybe not so busy for a while...deserted on Wednesday. The entire store.
