What cheeses me off

Went to see my usual trusty dental hygienist late last year. Aforementioned hygienist moved premises to a different dental practice a bit further down the road.
Usually get a good deep clean / polish once every 6 months or so, takes about 30 mins. Covered by Health Insurance rebate.

Whilst in the chair one of the Dentists walks in, introduces himself, and has a quick glance at the cleaning being done.
Says to me "your teeth are in good nick for your age". I nodded, as you do at the Dentist. Came across to me as a new client sales pitch.

Go the the front desk to pay the usual ~$100, and on the insurance invoice there's an additional charge for "Initial Consultation - 011" by the Dentist.
Another $135. Yes, covered by rebate, but that wasn't the point as far as I'm concerned. He barely stopped as he went past, let alone "consulted".

Obviously I assumed it was a mistake. Nope. Receptionist insisted it was a valid consultation item code according to the computer. Told her I wasn't paying it and asked to see the Dentist. "Too busy". So I waited, making it clear I wasn't leaving.
Eventually he came out and, after umming and ahhing, said to her "oh, OK, I'll let it go this one time".
I said "don't worry, I won't be back". I've pretty much told anyone who will listen not to go to that practice.

WCMO is I now have to find another hygienist..
Dentists seem to think that hey have a licence to print money. They almost never inform you of additional charges before going ahead. Your example is disgusting though!

On one hand, you can get new vinyl so easily, everything new and a lot of re-releases are available. You would have thought LP's would be fashionable - dust, knowing how to handle them by the edges, scratches etc. But on the other hand, if you decide to move back to Oz, you have to get them shipped out as well.
Absolutely. The old man has a decent sized collection that has been sitting in storage for 30+ years so keen to get the inventory and see what condition they are in.

My husband has his vinyl collection all set up with modern turntable in our gym (separate building in house). We had some double ups when we got together (Carol King Tapestry/Stevie Wonder Hotter than July) but otherwise tastes complement

Edited to add: I appear to have gone off topic again. Mod delete as you see fit.

WCMO? We have hundreds of 78 records that were passed down from mrP's father. They are orchestral. Opera and the like. We've had them for something like 50 years. We've never had a turntable. We are planning to put them into am estate auction.

Someone in my family gave away my parents(grandparents) collection of 78s many years ago. Not happy.

You may be better off going to a specialise 'disc' type shop/dealer.

_____________

I sacked a dentist once when his time in the room kept getting less and less and the 'assistant' finished off ---> did most of the work. Last straw when dentist was standing behind me, and we were chatting and then he didn't answer. Left the room mid conversation without my seeing. Must have gotten bored.

Well, I've busy today...... have 6 records now. Had to start somewhere! 1 I thought I had uncovered a real bargain, but it ended up not quite being what I thought it was but it was a cheap learning experience at only £1.50 ;)

45 years and still a poor gambler not able to make the right choice or take a trick. Yes I do realise everyone has their own hard luck stories and some have unbelievable stories.

Backed Zac Purton in the 3rd race at Sha Tin and Karis Teetan in the 4th race. Zac won the 2nd race and Karis won the 3rd race. I looked at the horse Karis was riding and it had good form but still managed to talk myself out of it.

Had 2 Blackbook horses at Sale today in race 6 and race 7. The first one finished 2nd and the 2nd one won. Don't ask me why but I backed them on Sportsbet. I backed the 2nd one at $7.50 but it started at $27.00! Sportsbet somehow manages to do this to me everytime I have a winner. The losers don't blow out, only my winners. Had I backed it on Bet365 I would have got $34.00 as that is the Bet365 starting price and they have Best odds guarantee.

You'd think after 45 years that one may experience swings amd roundabouts? That's a definite no as it's been all downhill but I'm a slow learner.

I play Wordle everyday and also played a similar type game.
Went to play this morning and they wanted me to watch a video before playing, or pay US$10.

Instantly deleted, Can't be bothered with that cough.

Not a biggy, but WCMO is (usually politicians using) the phrase "The Australian People" why not flipping well just say "Australians". Or is it ambiguous that "Australians" might refer to dogs, cattle, sheep and kangaroos as well as people?

Or when asked a question - delay - defer - deflect - deny and talk about something unrelated..
