What cheeses me off

……… Polenta? WTF is Polenta? FFS - what’s wrong with spuds? Spuds have kept the Irish alive since dawn of time - and where we would we be without the Irish?

and Kale. A weed my italian dad use to remove from his huge backyard garden when I was growing up. And "super foods" in general that then everyone goes crazy over. Just eat your fruit and veggies and shut up about it.

What cheeses me off is when you’re leading an excursion - it’s the person who is always late and always has to do something just when we are due to leave to do something. 😡

I had a boss that would purposely do this on holidays, conference trips ect. His opinion was they wont leave without me so why be the first on the bus. Just once I wished they would leave without him.

What Cheeses me off; People who won't step out of the aisle when accessing their luggage in the overhead, blocking the access for everyone else trying to get past them.

Kale. The modern day Brussel sprout.

Make sure they get the worst seat? On a cruise bus trip we had a lady from the good ole come onboard late. All the window and front of bus seats were long gone. We'd been waiting a while for her. She then had the gall to complain to the driver that she couldn't take photos from her only seat option. I have no idea what she expected him to do. She didn't get her way. We were in Asia and I think it was a case of no speak the language. She stomped her way down to the back.

We must've had the same boss. Most painful 3 years of my career. Ironically my contract wasnt renewed when he negotiated a pay rise that was my entire salary, so bye bye blackcat 🤦‍♀️

Brussel sprouts are ok if you roast them- just roll them in a bit of olive oil and salt
Agree. Remove the brussel flavour and they are great.

Appliance cords that just need to be longer by about 10 cms and they'd be functional without the need for an extension cord. Like irons. And The portable towel warmer. They must think everyone has power outlets at floor level in bathrooms. Which I'd expect would be illegal anyway.

And speaking of tour buses, the person who says they get car (bus) sick or suffer from claustrophobia so MUST have the front row window every day. Some guides get around this by rotating the seats each day around the bus but some others just take the easy way out and annoy the rest of the passengers for the whole tour.

I bet the same person who booked the cheapest no windows berth on a cruise and complains about claustrophobia.

I do get pretty motion sick on a bus so I solve it by not travelling them, I drive myself. If something makes you sick don't do it.

People who complain about something but have booked themselves into the problem they have.

The flipside to this is people who are always super early and expect others to be just as early. That cheese me off too. 9am means 9am not 9:10am and equally not 8:45am.

Getting daggers and made to feel I'm late, for turning up for a meeting at 8:20am, because everyone is there and ready to go, yet the meeting was scheduled to start at 8:30am.

Getting a call at 5:35am, just as I'm about to get in the shower in my hotel room, asking am I ready, because "we're all in the lobby waiting for you" WTF? We agreed to depart at 6am. I was planning to be there at 5:50am to checkout, but it never ever crossed my mind to be there at 5:30 when we agreed 6am.

Back in the long distant past, mrsdoc and I did a day tour Alice Springs - Ayers Rock - Alice Springs.

The bus left two stragglers at the rock to make their own way from there (was in the day you could climb and others on the tour reported seeing them climbing up with only 10 mins to departure).

The day was long enough without waiting for dawdlers to dawdle.

Wonder what happened to them?

That reminds me of the time we were in California, we did a day trip to Muir Woods from San Fran. The bus driver when we got to Muir Woods said " This bus leaves here at 5.00pm, not 5 to 5 or 10 past 5, but 5.00pm. It is the LAST bus, check my clock here my time is 10am, check you watch that you are on MY time ! The taxi fare back to San Fran is $ 200." 2 people did not make the bus ! He left at 5.00 !

Did a walking tour in the Dolomites a few yrs ago - guide was an ex Himalayan type who we judged to be pretty organised. First morning instructions were to be ready to go at 8.50 but there were 2 stragglers who played tag-team about going back to their room for sunscreen/whatever.

Its normally an immutable rule that the larger the group the longer anything will take to happen. But we were with Gary the guide and the group fitted in a minivan, so it didnt take too long for the stragglers to sort themselves out.

But Gary reminded them in front of the rest of us - quietly but very firmly - when we arrived at the chairlift just ahead of 2 larges buses. "Guys, see those buses? Thats the reason we should have left when I asked, so we didnt have to contend with them up the mountain or on the walk". Nobody was late again all week and 'doing a Gary' is in the family lexicon.

Another pet hate of groups - the 2 people who always are at the back of a walking group, 20m behind, having their own little chat & not listening to the commentary ( I think that's rude), holding the group up as we wait for them to catch up at each stop, then carrying on talking loudly while the speaker starts again and then asking questions about what was just explained in detail. xx_X I'm looking at YOU from the last 4 days. 😡

Clients who don't answer their phone when I ring back from my mobile instead of the office phone - "because it might be a cold caller or scammer"
WTF! - You asked me to call you? What is the worst that could happen?

"Hello"
"Hi, I wonder when you last reviewed your private health insurance?"
"I'm not interested thank you" .... CLICK..

See, that didn't hurt at all - you moron. He didn't clean out your bank account or transfer the deeds of your house.
