What cheeses me off

When the subway person gets your cheese wrong. I want cheddar cheese not American, man it!🤣🤣And yes, the pretentious part of "not wanting" a vegetable and choosing everything else when they ask you for what vegetables you prefer so you don't seem like a stingy rat. Whoever started that trend I hate you because it is so hard for me to decide which vegetable I don't want (currently boils down to pickles or carrots especially carrots since they are dirt cheap). I paid for the overpriced subway and I am determined to get my moneys worth (11 buckaroos for a veggie delite even without meat let alone the other options with meat omg)😭😭

... is a woman in J to Melbourne today thinks it's ok to paint her nails. What also cheeses me off is husband next to her doesn't also see the insensitivity to fellow pax and suggest she not do that. It took 1C to complain to the CM for her to put the nail polish away.

WCMO... HSBC credit card application processes overall... suck. But... the things we do to get benefits.

First of all, the application portal keeps having an error. The recommended fix is always "press the Back button then resubmit".

This even happened when I finally submitted the application. I wasn't prepared to hit Back and send again, just in case it goes for another check of my credit record and like I need that blip on the record.

Did I mention that at the start of the application process that the portal said it would email me my reference in case I needed to resume later? No such email appeared. Lucky I wrote down the reference.

Try resuming the application, so I can find out if it went through or not, despite the error. The application did not go through. Furthermore, half of it is incomplete, despite me typing it all in earlier. So go through, refill the info, submit again. No errors this time.

Convoluted ID check process involving an SMS to mobile and different URL to take photos of IDs and your face. Had to complete it twice due to network error.

Back to main application process. Now to prove your income by using bank statements. Application website says two choices: upload your bank statements, or allow our automatic service to retrieve them for you. Frustrated but against better judgement, I use the automatic process. It seems successful but it just redirects you back to the same "upload your bank statements / automatically retrieve" portal, even after the confirmation and even after you say you have no more statements to upload.

Find an email sent to me that I'm conditionally approved but I need to upload bank statements (which I thought I just did) or payslips, plus go into a bank branch for an in-person ID check.

Find the little time I have today from work to go to the one branch to do the ID check. Get told that because I used a passport as my application ID, I need to present my passport. How hard should it have been in the automatic email process to include that in the email so I would have known that they are expecting my passport. So I had to leave work temporarily for basically no benefit at all.

Oh, and the agent at the bank said that I also need to bring in my payslips, even though HSBC has already captured my bank statements for proof of income.

End of the cheese.

WCMO for an activity that I am a co-ordinator of at school, I have to separately maintain 3 copies of the same student records because 3 systems need them and all have different purposes, but they cannot share the same synchronised set of information.

It's exhausting.

WCMO he’s going to my favourite shirt shop and seeing a long sleeve shirt that’s just right for me and it’s on special. No problem - bought without trying on as I know their sizes very well.

Get it home and discover it’s got no breast pocket. Why the hell do they make shirts without a breast pocket?

New age.

Yep, not sure what it is, but shirts without breast pockets are not in mode.

Seems very old fashioned and not very sexy to be toting a couple of pens and cards in the breast pocket, despite how practical it is.

Probably also cheaper to manufacture.

Probably no yoke either.
NB: This is the strip of fabric that runs across the back of the shoulders and joins the collar. It gives a good shirt form and allows it to hang properly.

For those of a certain age, it's needed for the spectacles...

That's the basic WCMO factor...

What is next for Steph Houghton? Who cares?

Why is my Google feeding me this garbage. I am a Liverpool F.C fan. I shouldn't even have to say men's Liverpool F.C as there is only one Liverpool F.C! That does not make me a fan of women's football and certainly not a fan Man City women's football club. Using the same reference for men's and women's club football is silly and makes no sense.

Oh and patiently waiting for 115 City F.C to be expelled from EPL. They deserve worse punishment than what Rangers and Juventus have had recently.

Here's another good one.

Note if I am not mistaken a whole day, 24 hours parking, is $23 in the OOL budget uncovered parking.

I parked there 04:30am and returned at 8:30pm and paid $23.00 at parking machine before going to car. Had a few things to do. Called daughter. Called mum.

Exited car park at 9:09pm and put ticket in machine and after some thought it came back that I owed another $8. WTF. Press the trouble button and the guy said that I may have taken too long. What do you mean too long. This is not parking by the hour. I said I am not paying. He asked me to take ticket back and let me out.

He did not do me a favour. Clearly the parking machine is wrong. How many people fall for it and pay?

I suspect that the system works like this: once you have paid for your parking, your parking essentially ends. Most systems give you something like 10 minutes after you pay and validate to exit the car park.

It's supposed to work so that, for example, say someone parks for 2 hours 55 minutes when they get to the machine, and 2-3 hours is $10 but 3-4 hours is $17 (I'm making all these prices up). So they would pay $10 and then exit the car park within a short amount of time thereafter. Just because it takes them more than 5 minutes to exit after they pay up doesn't mean they should owe another $7. But a time limit also prevents some smart aleck from, say, paying for the cheapest bracket straight up after parking then holding onto that validated ticket until they exit a few hours later.

Unfortunately, if you have an all-day pass or when you park for the maximum charge, of course you shouldn't have to pay again, no matter if it takes you that long to exit after validating (unless you exceed some other time limit). Even stranger still if, as you seem to imply, there's a specific type of parking pass that should be coded to mean you park all day at a flat rate. The system should definitely be set up not to care about when such a ticket is presented at the exit, so long as it has been validated and paid for.

I've said this before many times and it sounds logical to me but obviously it does not apply to a special group of people who are part of the ever growing self-entitled pool.

I make no secret of the fact I live in Toowong. Near the village. Near the station. Very difficult to find any unlimited, unrestricted, all day street parking. In fact hard to find all day parking anywhere in Toowong and there are currently more multi story accommodations in various stages of building.

If you own more than 1 car do not buy or rent an apartment with a single car garage or only 1 registered space. This is extremely logical.

- long term parking in driveway shared by everyone is stupid. No nicer way of putting it
- cannot park your car in front of your garage. That is stupid because if I also park my car in front of my garage then no one can get in or out
- the short term visitor parking is not the place to leave your car for weeks/months because trades people need to find other places to park

Got back from Gold Coast around 11:00pm and the dope across from me has his Mercedes parked back in the driveway and a new tenant in our building has left their car in the short term visitor spot for more than 1 week now.

I have never come across this many stupid people concentrated in such a small area before. The lady directly opposite me tells people to park in front of her garage while they visit her. I saw this earlier this week when I was parking my car. I got really angry and confronted them. I told them next time I see a car in front of garage I will come downstairs and take my car out my garage and leave it there so the other 10 people cannot get through. They just stared at me.

This same lady has a dog that she leaves unattended for an 1 hour or more each morning and it just loudly wails non-stop. Annoying as I work from home.

I wish I could move but I think it's going to cost me $3000-$4000 to move and I'm about to sign another 12 month lease.

Hi John,
Did you hear the recent announcement from Brisbane City Counci? As a cost of living measure saving and to reduce dependence on cars, new multistory residential buildings in certain neighbourhoods will have LESS parking spaces for units and visitors. Apparently a basement car space adds between $50 000 and $100 000 to cost of each apartment.

There's usually about a 10 minute grace to exit once you've paid.

So what happens to the dope that just moved into my building with multiple cars and only 1 garage space and no street parking for at least 500 metres? Just leave their 2nd car anywhere the feel like it?

Street parking is a premium in Toowong so Brisbane City Council shows yet again they have no idea what's going on. Reducing parking spaces does not reduce the cars people own.
