What cheeses me off

In Robotics Club, I was searching up and down for a particular piece of Lego (a whole bunch of them). Couldn't find any, was desperate, so stumped up $120 incl. postage to buy a whole lot of them from a local firm.

One week later and the new parts are delivered. I open up the drawers on a trolley to find a spot to put the new pieces.....and I find a whole bunch of said type of pieces that we already own. (tldr - I wasted $120)
This happens so many times. Search high and low. No luck. Go out and purchase and immediately find what you were looking for.

From the hotel with the barely there doona, comes the bath with bath salts, but no plug. It was nowhere to be found. If I had really wanted a bath I would have phoned housekeeping, but it really shouldn’t be so difficult.

At the risk of receiving another sarcastic response, did the chrome circle thing under the tap not work? Or was the associated plug/mechanism simply missing?

I think Missing because turning the chrome thingy lifts or lowers the plug raising or lowering mechanism - the plug has a stem that fits into the middle little hole
Yeah, thought that may be the case. I just had it in my head that I've encountered baths where the plug was almost like an internal valve... but I could also be imagining things as it's been one of those weeks! 😜

Apologies if my previous response to you was interpreted as sarcasm. That wasn’t my intent, and I probably chose the wrong emoji. I genuinely hadn’t thought about requesting another doona 😀. I did check the wardrobe to see if there were extra supplies there, but no, it was empty.
No, there was no associated plug mechanism for the bath. It just needed a plain old plug.

All good 👍 I've seen some small doonas before, but that was seriously next level small 🤣

Epson Ink Jet Printers. About ready to throw likely my 10th maybe 100th printer through the window. Not one issue - multitudes of issues on a regular basis. Today - can't find it on the network. Turn on turn off. Located it. Right. Print two pages. It prints one. Send another print job to it. Can't print because 'it's busy'. Check the queue. There's nothing in the queue, it isn't busy. Then there's the replacement inks. The inkjet maintenance clean that then removes all remaining inks left. The continued firmware update message that blocks any further printing until dismissed. The power goes out deleting the time. The printing won't start until that message is dismissed. It can't see the modem if it's in another room while all other ithngies connect to it all over the house. Now? It's just sitting there oblivious of the job I sent to it.

So while on the subject of sink plugs. My kitchen ones don't seal properly. I've tried replacing them to no avail. Water drains out all the time.

Recently we left for three weeks. Came home to an unusual smell in the apartment, not too horrendous but not quite right either. Went to the sink. And there in the bottom of the sink was half an inch of water that somewhow and as a first ever, the sink plug decided it would retain while we were away. Needed a good dose of bleach to get rid of all the junk that had accumulated.

Wish I could suggest HP as an alternative... But the scanner on the one I've got suddenly stopped working with my Mac about six months ago. So avoid if using a real computer: seems to be fine with the wife's Windoze machine.
