What cheeses me off

At 18 they told me if you were 21 car insurance would be cheaper. At 21, they said too bad you not 25, car insurance would be cheaper. 25 comes long and 30 is the new target. 40 turns into 50 and I still think I'm paying too much for car insurance. And the last time I bent a car was back in 1988 when some clown did a U-turn in front of me.
Bronze QFF since 1995. Rewards flights far and few, only seats on cash flights at the back of the bus. If you were Silver they told me things would be better. Made Silver, no change, still no flights and Gold would be a lot better they say.
So I make Gold, no real change to life. WP is what you need they said, life is better at the top. 2 months later I make WP.
Booked my first commercial flight as WP yesterday. Row 6 in Y first available seats for a flight in May. Row 2 in J on the way home. All rows in front of me have the dreaded X on every seat.
They better not say P1 is better, because I will go outright postal.
But I do get to hit up the First class lounge now. That's better.
Interesting … I flew with a QF P workmate to & from projects Domestic Y about a half-dozen times between 5 & 10 years ago, my ticket linked to his each time ‘cos every single time we got row 4 on the 737 (the first one behind Domestic Joke J) with the centre seat blocked-out.

And that’s what Platinum got around 10 years ago before the enhancements.

Agree - and I'd put people paying at shops with mobile-phone credit cards. Face rec not working, enter pin, wave the wrong end on the reader, oops need to double click, try a few times... Just get the card out while things are being scanned and tap the chip reader when ready. Or, in my case, just bring the watch to the reader & done.
Thank you ... thank you, @RooFlyer !! 🫡 It is, truly *that* simple!

Tuggeranong, left willy nilly all over the place, footpaths, cycle ways, car parks, should be fined for littering,
Not just littering. At Tuggers, it is becoming a menace in that people jump on the e-scooters, drive recklessly on the footpath, crashing/scaring pedestrians ... I work out of the South point area at Tuggers sometimes and it is rife with kids on e-scooters, possibly (I'm being nice, I know they are drunk) drunk, yelling and running into pedestrians ... worst is, they don't regard to be careful around the street corners. So around the Irish pub & Aldi area there are quite a few blind spots and the folks on e-bikes scare people walking around that area.

Cheesing me off, the assumption everyone has a smart phone.

This morning went a QF lounge melb and asked to be checked in and a boarding pass. Lounge security attendant, because she could not be referred to as customer service, told me to use my phone in future. Said I didn’t have one then got another lecture on the benefits of people less check in.

I can only guess she will sit there until everyone she lectures makes her obsolete.

It's not just Qantas Logging into to Govt organisations requires a smart phone with an installed app. ATO. My Gov. MYOB. List is endless.

I know, I don’t do that either, paper tax return for me.

I think what I find annoying they are ‘fixing’ something which from the customer perspective isn’t broken.

tax return
Did mine with my accountant last night and I'm feeling very very deflated and down ... After paying a lot of tax (IT contractor on TFN, 2 casual jobs on the side, Single & no dependents), I still owe the ATO at least $5k ... I'm like seriously! And I don't do unnecessary expenses, so do not have a huge bill that could be used for tax deduction etc ... feeling very bad honestly ...

My accountant explained that I should feel *happy* that I'm contributing to the economy blah blah ... but I'm like seriously dude, WT!!!!

I understand & acknowledge that the tax that I paid doesn't even scratch the surface of the tax the other folks here in AFF pay ... but for me, it was a really BIG $$$ ... Funnily, my agent also mentioned that if I had not worked in one of the casual roles, I would have got a refund of at least $9k!

I feel so deflated that my regulars at CBR asked me if I was doing ok!?!?!

Xero has a Xero Verify app.
All you have to do is after logging, go into the Xero Verify App in smartphone and click once on the "yes its me". Easier than typing in some random number string
Still need a smartphone.

I have to do company tax. Monthly PAYG instalment, quarterly BAS, quarterly small business super clearing house contribution.

Well this cheeses everyone off

Single touch payroll. It has never been single touch...
It gets me why when we click that submit button to the ATO each pay run why on earth that data isnt already populated when we do the monthly PAYG returns. It's the same data!

Having been broomed out of HSBC in London and Perth we made an appointment with a banker and we were delighted with the new multi currency account.
What a relief…..
Our colleague got broomed out of CBA the other day so the bank still holds her money interest free.

Success in life requires careful financial planning, the fiscal fiend tries very hard to nail everyone but some slip through the net.
I opine that one important factor in organising your success ..is to seek fiscal serenity ( highly recommended)
There are ways to structure your personal financial success strategy that minimises bleed and maximises accumulation.
Plenty of how to books around.. do some reading...

Yes. OTOH are there any non smart phones?
