What cheeses me off

(By messenger I was referring to him, not me - I'm not sure what his view count has to do with it.)

He was using it as example of how a rating can be downgraded so quickly for no apparent reason. He never said it wasn't a scam they got the rating in the first place. In fact he implied (possibly in another video) that the only reason they lost the rating was because they stopped paying.

If we both agree it is a scam, great, that was the only point was I making.
By messenger I'm referring to me pointing out the obvious contradiction in the video (my message).

No, actually, he clearly outlines the reason for such a big downgrade, in great detail. It's a scam. IMO ironic to then cry about the downgrade as if it is a travesty, denial of justice for poor old turkish. The issue he seems to think is so unjust is actually proof of the scam that he's complaining about.

Youtubers - you know they make money from views, right?

Super surprised anyone is using self check out with 3 or 4 bags of purchases.

Why? It is still much quicker than a manned check-out and none of the issues of teenagers putting tins on top of eggs etc

Noting that none of my 4 bags are ever completely full, but I will never put cleaning products in same bag as fresh food and like to keep my berries, gluten free rolls, eggs etc from being crushed.

The layout of the self serve check-outs is large enough to accommodate a small trolley at each one (i have never in my life needed a full size trolley).

Fair point.
I'm probably not at that level. Either maybe on the 1 or 2 bags level - 10 items max, can often just carry them loose and if not put them back into the trolley. Or full sized trolley, that's full. - 6 to 10 bags. depending on who does the packing lol

Great, we agree it's a scam. Moving on.

That segues me into a non-cheese … I noticed the other day that the local Coles have installed a few shopping-trolley full-sized self-scan checkouts. This particular Coles never had enough room for a small trolley, unlike the one you’ve been going to, and the Woollies downstairs is similar; taking a trolley into the self-scan checkouts always caused blockages there.

It isn't always The trolleys causing the blockages but numpties who are completely oblivious to their surroundings and the space they take up unnecessarily just by plonking themselves in the middle of everywhere.

Our local in the country only has served counters. And they are ridiculously sloooow. Long queues. I avoid wherever possible as I usually only have a couple of things but wait, and wait and wait.

Touche @Pushka 👍

Add numpties plus partner plus kid plus kid’s best friend plus their cousin
…Same issue in those lovely small provedore/cafe/single origin/eat your coffee cup experiences. All I want is a coffee to go - shop looks full - oh no - its numpties day out…. and when Marmaduke jnr gets to the counter make sure mamon reads out the entire menu to him (preferably with detailed provenance) to decide as he didnt have time to work it out when they were all in the queue.

Rant over .. but oh so common

There's a good little coffee shop (as in nice coffee, not expensive) that I pass many days. Fortunately they line the cups or lids up on the counter as their order queue. Easy to look in and see that there is ... 10 orders pending. Nope! Walk on and get cheaper, but not as good, coffee from adjacent chain bakery. Actually, same at that chain. You can see their queue on the screen above the barista-station. More than 5, or a couple with 3-4 lines (cups in an order), again, move on. Will have that coffee later.

…At least they line up the cups and make the coffee as opposed to the places the whole process starts from scratch each order at a glacial pace….whilst the baristas and staff chat about their latest piercings/music festival experience

Agree @RooFlyer about not waiting if 10 orders in front. My beef is a full shop of Marmaduke’s family taking the same time to access/process as 10 coffees!

Sorry to anyone who does not do this but has a child named Marmaduke!

If the transport is crowded how do you pick out that it's one, "usually men", who is refusing to sit? What about all the others in the crowd who are also refusing to sit?

I've had the experience in Sydney of getting on a bus to go 1 -3 stops, along elizabeth st for example. So I stand up but there are numerous seats available, and leave plenty of space for people to pass. The person behind me stops behind me and doesn't move pass and does not take a seat. edit: with the consequence that the front of the bus gets full of people standing up.

Is that my fault or their fault? I don't think my logic is wrong.
Maybe it’s a bit different with trams? The aisles can be very narrow at points where there is also seating. CBD trips can be very crowded.

People who touch or kick pedestrian walk signals with the soles of their shoes.

I'm stunned that no one has tought these people manners and how to behave in public. What's more worrying is quite a few of them have stroller in tow.

It's disgusting and I can't stand the smug look on their face as if they've just done something great.
covid! lol. no one touches buttons or traffic walk signals anymore, surely??

In Melbourne they’re all mostly automatic now anyway, at least in the CBD and immediate surrounds. Buttons still there but redundant.

Maybe not, but touching things with soles of shoes is on another level way beyond covid. This is really not a thing to do in public.

Press button holding tissue. Use elbow. Do not use shoes that are filled with germs.

Maybe not. But I guess folk had to get creative!

As I don’t touch any buttons I’m not too concerned about germs

Like - at all? You use stairs exclusively?
Nooo… that’s using door handles! I use the lift, which i touch with my pass, or handle of my umbrella, or whatever :)

I jest…but these days I guess quite a few people have been conditioned not to touch things. Someone grasped my hand for a handshake the other day… still feels a bit odd!
