What cheeses me off

The USA is about to ramp up its passenger protection regime as well:

Imagine the push back that Qantas would mount, calling in all its favours from the Chairman's Lounge member politicians, and putting pressure on the media that it advertises with. Look how they are treating the AFR today because AJ will not tolerate criticism.
Given that 'we' (tax payers) gave them $2.35 billion between march 2020 and JUne 2022, i wold be oportune for them not to. :)

…is ordering BWS clearance items online and arriving to collect only to be told “we can’t find the stock.”

Fair enough it happens, so may I please have a refund?

Guy cancels the order and my email goes ding with a coupon code for the value of the order, can be used only at BWS with a 12 month expiry thrown in for good measure.

Cue discussion about consumer law…

I think you have to contact the online team to get it refunded, there's not much the store can do.

Can't say I've had this with BWS, but I have with Dan Murphys, Big W and Woolworths and all three never hesitate to refund. I wouldn't think BWS would be any different being another Woolworths company.

Yeah... store guy cancelled the order and the voucher was auto generated.

Telling them I was dissatisfied with an inferior voucher was via the online team / call centre.

Apparently they've changed it to to egift card... but that's yet to appear in my email. I'll give it until tomorrow but seems like a second call will be required.

Meantime, I've been invited to share my feedback on the process. Sure, but how about giving me my money back first!

That's really odd - I'd be pushing for full refund or do a credit card chargeback.

Weird, if Woolworths give you a substitution you don't like they refund the product to your card - and you don't even have to give the unwanted product back.

I've also had no problems with Dan Murphys, they're really good to deal with.

Agreed, but Initial payment was a wish EGift card.

But that means no expiry date and valid at any Woolworths group store.

Their refund was a BWS specific voucher with 12 month expiry.

If I’d paid by card I would have expected (and likely received) a full refund.

Ah, that makes more sense.

Non stop Google ads for dating sites.

No, I'm not interested in seeing huge dating site ads where most of my screen is unusable. Turn off preference and a few days later they're back again.

No, I'm really not interested in seeing these really dumb ads.

Maybe try deleting cookies/internet site visit history.
Granted it also deletes things like stored passwords to eg, Newscorp etc.
Double edged sword, deleting history, but its worth a try.
If you do keep a password manager, then try deleting viewing history, if not, just bear with the ads.
I store my passwords on an old phone without a sim card inside, and one that has connections in settings to wifi turned off.

I bet these people were cheesed off

Another call centre disaster. The airline continues to do poorly here.

but this must have happened months ago,

The $19k happened in Feb but it appears to have taken almost 3 months later to be resolved and squared away.

Why does it always seem that a proper resolution requires media attention?. Airline arrogance?

What cheeses me off is an English train strike the day I arrive at LHR - of course, and I can't use the £5.50 Heathrow express ticket. Yes I can get a refund but won't cover a few minutes of a London taxi

Because they've been getting away with it and most people aren't out of pocket that much and as you say I think many just don't bother following up as they don't want to be reminded of bad experiences.

We need compensation. We need significant compensation on top of reimbursement of all out of pocket costs. And of the areas that needs to be addressed is cancelled/delayed flights and overbooking situations causing downgrades in class of travel.

What’s wrong with the tube to central London then a taxi

Train Strike doesn't affect Tube operations?
If not ... I guess Quickstatus may not be heading towards the centre of London (although would alternative buses be arranged?)
