What cheeses me off

I’ve admittedly never been to the USA … but I’ve never removed my shoes or belt for security, ever. Never done it unasked, never been asked.
I've had to remove shoes at BKK, HKG, KUL in the past.

Add SYD now to removing my sneakers after going through the new you beaut scanners.

I usually have my belt off well before security so that I don't hear yet one more order to do something.

You don't realise how great we have it in Australia until you start dealing with businesses in other countries.

Everything in Thailand is deception.

We're buying bedding set for daughter's room.

- that one not include mattress
- this one include mattress
- that one not include mattress

Nothing on the signs. They make it up as they go along.

Ok, well have this queen bed. Oh sorry this display model is last one in stock. But 5 minutes ago you said you had stock. Sorry this the last one. So how much you discount floor stock. No discount. Really. This is cracked, this broken but no discount.

Ok, we'll have this king bed. She says they'll include mattress and ups the price. Ok, no problem.

Wife goes to pay and shows me receipt to check. Sweetie, this in Thai. She starts checking and notices the lady wrote down 5' foot (queen) not 6' foot (king) on receipt. Goes back and lady puts an x on the 5 and writes 6 and will update computer later.

Do I look stupid? Write out a new receipt with 6' foot bed.

By the way this not isolated incident. Every dealing we have with builders and stores is the same. Huge headache...

What Cheeses Me Off are Customers and Service Agents in Banks, Supermarkets, Bakeries or anywhere in general where said people feel its appropriate and acceptable to indulge in extensive and prolonged chin wag sessions discussing any topic imaginable during and post being served totally oblivious to those queued behind them

Seems that a particular OS region of call centres or the nationally of caller see my age (starts with a 5) and then feel its appropriate to call me Darling and not my name

We have a shortage of builders in Australia. Sounds like the Thai builders would fit right in with the Australian building culture.

LOL.

My wife planned everything and all was discussed with builders before they gave quote.

- they've tried to provide low quality materials
- things that are expensive and my wife wants they've been telling her that won't look good
- missed multiple deadlines

Now we've bought white goods and some furniture the delivery is end of this month. Wife told builders house have to be ready. Builder says we have to take time to do the best job.

Should have thought about that one when you were taking days off to do other things.

Everything in Thailand is deception.

Often the same dealing with Thai employees.

One example that sticks in my mind relates to transporting contractors to/from site. Seat belt policy in place for the company transporting anyone, including the moderate sized contract workforce. We notice at the entrance to site a tray truck with about 20 plastic moulded chairs (like I sat in at school) set up on tray (not fixed at all).

"Do you use that to transport contract employees to site"?
Answer 1: "No that's not anything to do with us"
"Why parked outside of front gate then"
Answers: radio silence
"Are you sure?"
Answer 2: "That is something employees have arrange for themselves, they pay for it"
"Are you sure"?
Radio silence
"can you please check?"
"Yes"
Checks. 10 minutes later... "Yes we arranged it, but employees pay"
"Are you sure?"
Radio silence
"Can you check again"
Checks. 30 minutes later "Yes we arranged and paid for it"
"That's disappointing. Can you do something about it?"

What really cheeses me off is these rich, climate change activists, for example Leonardo Dicaprio, Lewis Hamilton - telling us 'plebs' we should be reducing our carbon footprint....
BUT on the other hand, they fly in around the world in their private jets, fancy gas guzzling cars.
Ill also add some climate change fanatics at work - ok, if you believe in climate change, then lead the way and set the example - stop flying to Bali twice a year on holidays, buy a electric car, sell your 50 square house which consumes heaps of energy....
When i mention this to them, I just get blank stares - their attitude is 'its not my climate emergency, its everyone elses'....

Bono and Bob Geldorf admonishing the plebs for not donating more but moving their song rights off shore to min tax. Im all for minimising your tax but dont tell me that Im not doing enough when youre flown 1st class around the world and your hotel overlooks the Opera House in your designer suit. Dude, Im trying to afford lettuce and cucumbers and have you bought a capsicum recently?

Yeah - its just the hypocrisy I cant stand.
By all means, be passionate about your causes, but if youre not going to practice what you preach, then its just virtue signalling.
Since im on a rant, ill continue!
Ive been called racist, because I cant stand these people telling us ' always was, always will be Aboriginal land' or ' this is stolen land'.
Mate, if you believe this, then sell up, and move overseas, or donate your land to the 'cause'.
Im at this stage in life, where I cant stand the hypocricy in people, and i will say it to their face.

Or the one in Cancun (where else!!) where 10 bods from the Aust Dept Climate Change (or whatever it was back then) flew First Class because - you know - one has to be comfortable while saving the world. Lord knows how many J class cabins were stuffed full of their underlings.

I'm not a fan of having to change passwords regularly but it's worse when forced to change password and then not being able to reuse an old password.

Tried logging into SQ a couple of days ago. Password didn't work. Tried a few variations and they didn't work either.

Forced me to request an email with password reset. Typed in the password I typed earlier and got an error message that I cannot reuse previous passwords. Now I've got a password that I will not remember.

Are they storing old passwords somewhere? That is really silly? Let me choose a password I want to use and can remember.
