Yes, have to.

However, what may not be shown (and is calculated by the terminal during the transaction) is the surcharge on international cards (and the forex conversion) ... this can be found on the receipt.

It's basically the smallest size these days. The issue is that the feed in tariff is stupidly low so it doesn't cover daily connection fees and the cost of power used, eg overnight is expensive. Batteries are the way to go but not cost effective yet.

Do they still do Wimbledon on 9? That will cause some havoc. In the days before digital channels we just didn't get it at all when Aussies were playing or it was finals time. At least now it's just a change of channels but I know what you mean about the surfing.

I was just trying to sort out a new plan. Energy Australia offers me 10c a kWh feed in tariff. But that maxes out at 15 per day and goes down to 7.6c. The daily supply charge is about 96c so need to send enough back to pay for that. Currently with cold morning we've got the heat on first thing when there's no generation going. Long term a battery would be good but hard to justify currently. I like the idea of using an EV as a battery for the house at night. If we could get a cheapish one as a run-about that would suit us down to the ground. Sadly, they are not cheap and won't be for a while.

My merchant facility costs less than not having a merchant facility.
We put it in to avoid the secretaries walking down the street to the banks with cheques and cash.

That supply charge is high. My son has a FIT of around 60 cents, never tapers. A very old plan that he's been able to continue. They don't get bills. They are also off tank storage for water except late summer.

Currently solar works best for people with high self consumption thus my previous comments.
I would love a daily supply charge of 96c, can't ever remember paying that in rural/regional NSW- from July 1st AGL is proposing $1.9413 for daily power supply charge & 14.278c daily for controlled load. 34% hike in power costs and 54.88% increase for controlled load costs.

#WCMO is it is very difficult to compare plans. The "energymadeeasy.gov.au" is anything but.....

But for a commodity like electricity, the idea of shopping around makes no sense. As soon as governments encourage people to shop around for the best plan, it allows retailers to make their plans different from others as a marketing difference.

In Tas, we have to pass cyclists with 1.5m minimum between us . That makes it impossible to pass safely on long stretches of Tas' wretched 19C roads. A bloody minded cyclist puffing up a hill on a highway* with bends, can have 20 cars backed up behind them.

Well, that's in most states and the separation distance depends on the speed limit. The thing I observe the most is drivers who overtake cyclists in the situation you describe unsafely.
I've never been in a hilly situation where I could not overtake safely and maintain the required separation, it just requires patience and a bit of extra time. There are also two factors in a car's favour - acceleration capacity and the short length of a cyclist. Plus of course you are allowed to cross double white lines to provide separation to the cyclist.

I would suggest the issue with your example is capability to drivers to understand the road rules and think. This leads me to drivers who give way to the right at a roundabout - I got a whole cheese board for those #$%@s.

When I used to do that the pictures always lagged behind the radio so you knew a wicket had fallen half a second before you saw it. It's probably worse now? Digital radio (or the app) is well behind reality though so I'm not sure how that would work either.
