What cheeses me off

Walk away.
Agree - as I get more mature my tolerance for the perennially late, people who have no respect for other people’s needs and those who don’t show up get kicked to the kerb.

As it is my time and emotional bandwidth cannot meet the needs of all the people who really value me and with whom I want to spend time. Anyone else is a no brainer

Liberating

Every time I try to book tickets to see a film with Village Cinema Gold Class and pay by credit card there is an error message so it takes multiple attempts over the day on different devices. It gets worse in that the next time you try the seats you chose are not available - six attempts to see Black Bag today - finally successful and booked ‘last three’ - although one was a carer seat and only the disabled seat left free.
Of course every ‘occupied’ seat was my prior failed attempts to book!!!
Luckily when we did go today we had a private cinema as no one else there (not sure if this was due to the above)
Everytime I raise it they say ‘yep its hopeless’ ‘ring customer service’ or turn up and book. No thanks what if I get there and no seats
FFS🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Anyone else find this issue

OK, this isn't precisely WCMO... that's a bit too strong for this situation...

Many airlines make safety demonstrations that include real people in the video (cf. those that just use animated characters or other simulations). When we watch these people speak in their native language, fine, but when we see them speak in English, some airlines you can clearly tell that the speech has been overlayed over someone who is merely mouthing the words.

This is probably a cultural thing, but I don't get why they do this. Almost all cabin crew speak acceptable English, and some of them have better English than native English speakers. There must be at least a few crew members in an entire airline who can speak proficient English for a safety demonstration. And if worst came to worst, just have the actors do actions without talking (i.e. the voiceover narrates the action), so it doesn't look unnatural. Plus, the videos are often subtitled, including in English, for those people who struggle to understand accents.

In a similar vein:

Some safety demos are live, some video and some animation. Often, the live ones don't have the person actually blowing into the life vest mouthpiece, for obvious reasons; the person often just blows across the mouthpiece.

But there are silly animations where they also just have the animated figure blowing across the top of the mouthpiece! 🤷‍♂️

Bloody hotel valet park opened a boot lid on another vehicle too close and scratched my new car! FFS. Only done 150Km.

Recourse?

they agreed to pay for damage. Just a PITB to have to run around and get quotes and deal with insurance company.

Car parks - it's a case of how many dings today. So sorry.

I've gotten into the habit of taking a photo of my car and those parallel either side in a car park (ie 3 in a row, incl numberplates), especially when there is a large vehicle either side. So if there is a ding, at least I've got something to go by.

Yep. Once a particularly poor driving and parking effort saw a learner driver park their car at angles to my parallel park. So I took photos. The parent of said Learner driver returned to car and got offended. Didn't bother me, I just indicated that the car was parked in such a position that I was going to look after my property in case of mishaps and avoid insurance issues.

I'm inclined to find a better park.

It is something to provide to your insurance company I suppose but a number plate isn't going to help as I think whatever gov department is not obliged or even allowed to provide you or your insurance company with the contact details of the registered owner of the car. You'd have to make a police report. All you can obtain from the number plate is basic info like rego status, stolen etc like when buying a used car.

A more satisfying response would be retaliation. But not like for like. Smash a head light or tail light. That makes the car unroadworthy and the culprit learn a valuable lesson.

Didn’t realise that, but thinking about it, yes. So maybe I would get a police report as part of an insurance claim, as I’m not keen on coughing up an excess.

Dashcams with parking mode is the solution.

Offender dinged my car yesterday. All caught on video including car rego and person opening door.

Luckily it buffed out. So no claim necessary

Police report would mean they would investigate. You just include the case number in insurance claim . Police will insert the driver's details in the case number - the insurer will get it but you can't see it.

In another case, I had a hit and run - I was sitting in the car (not the one below). Video of other driver available. Police case report done. Insurer notified. Police issued a fine for not exchanging details to the other bloke. No excess for me. And insurer's problem to chase the other driver's insurance
