What happened to complimentary upgrades

Am I right in thinking this issue of MarkDs is purely a MEL ODU glitch? Has anyone else had the problem and if so, was it with a MEL ODU?

Maybe it is, but the thing is gone, As stated, it was complimentary, however, now I am left with 3 instead of 4 upgrades. What If I had planned to use 4 upgrades to take my wife away for the weekend, and utilise these four upgrades? Stiff **** I guess!

As for the 'normal' comp-upgrades.

As a two year WP, and at least 30+ flights in Economy, even when Economy is near totally full and business is empty, I have never had a truly comp-upgrade from Virgin.

If it makes you feel any better, I've had only one in about 130 flights as a Virgin Plat...

I was going to comment on this but forgot. The 4 free upgrades given to platinum, as mentioned by the OP, are not the same as free operational upgrades.

So are you saying the MEL ODUs are free operational upgrades?

No I'm not. The OP mentioned using the status upgrades as per what seems to be the rules for MEL. Someone then talked about not getting free upgrades. I'm simply pointing out the difference.

OK thanks for that. I skim read some posts and was wondering if I'd missed that part.

Letting everyone know that we've credited back the missing upgrade cert to the OP.

I'll also say for clarification.....that you earn on the fare that you PAID for ....ie the flexi, not the upgraded class you fly in.
IF for some reason you received J class SCs.... I saw nothing!

Thanks VFF, for looking into this and fixing it. Appreciate the presence here. :)
