What I ate today - the food thread

Went with a German inspired meal to have with the white spargel.

Crumbed schnitzel with parsley potatoes, white Spargel in a lemon parsley sauce, accompanied with cucumber radish pickle.

Just like being there! Happy to have it again.

Maxwell wines in Mclaren Vale for the missus's 40th. Amazing food, their museum wines very reasonable priced and all served with coravin. (I was lucky enough to get the first glass of a fresh bottle of the 2013 Cab Sav, very nice wine.

Tried the “Indian Accent” restaurant in CBR civic today. My colleague told me that this restaurant has been there for a very long time in Civic and she used to eat there many years ago and she said the food was very good. So I wanted to try it and see for myself.

We went for a walk yesterday after lunch and found out that the restaurant is actually closing for food good on 01/12. So now is the only time to try it before it’s doors are shut for good.

Had the Thali - very well made. There were a few curry options, but, alas, only 2 curries (Dal Makhani & Palak Paneer) for vego .. so had to pick those. My colleague had the Lamb Roganjosh and Beef Vindaloo. My colleague said that the curries she ordered were simply superb

The meal was really good. The samosa was well made. The naan bread was flaky and done to perfection. Other Indian places I had naan before, was always doughy, but this one was flaky and nice. I ordered a extra naan on the side after finishing the one that came with the thali.

Excellent service and nice decor. Too bad they are closing for good.

If anyone is around in CBR looking for a nice Indian place to eat, I’d definitely recommend it.

So for @Ade. Here is my vegetarian pizza recipe.

First Mission wraps. Small for Mrsdrron and medium for me. Spread with pizza sauce and then cover with herbs fresh from the garden. Tonight is sage, basil, oregano, parsley and Vietnamese mint.

Than the secret ingredient. Mrsdrron’s onion slow cooked in butter. Makes a large amount and then frozen until needed.

I often frequent the Asian noodle house in Campbell and Civic. Although they are called the same name, they are owned by different people.

I went to the Asian noodle house in civic and had my usual … and when i went to pay for the meal, the owner told me that he’s closing for Christmas from 24/12 to 23/01. He thanked me for my support this year.

He then asked if I drink milk … I was a bit puzzled .. I responded yes and he handed me a bar of chocolate for Christmas 😀😀 he then explained that I always order a vegan fried rice, so he thought I can’t take diary … such a nice person :)

Delicious! And what makes it better is purchased last night, just over 2kgs for $13. Cost was $12.50/kg marked down half price. I bought 2 of them and I'll take one to mum in Sydney on weekend.

There is absolutely no need to eat out when you can eat like this at home.

OT : Agree @JohnK but sometimes the stress at work makes me want to eat out .. I'd have perfectly home cooked (by me) meal sitting in my office fridge, waiting to be savoured ... but I'd go out and buy lunch ... like I did today, yesterday and all days last week ... :(

Work function. Forgot to take photo of the entrees (risotto and some sort of cheese/prosciutto?)

Main was barramundi and buffalo beef rib which was ok but bland.

We had a couple of people missing and ended up trying all 6 options. To be honest nothing special. I wouldn't want to be paying.
