What I ate today - the food thread

Today lunch was at Saigon Noodles in Bondi Junction. Mrsdrron as usual had the lemongrass beef vermicelli salad. I had the chicken laksa.
Mrsdrron liked her dish and had a coconut drink with it.

The laksa was very mild but tasty.

It was easy to lose the mildness.

So an enjoyable cheap meal.

Premier Hotel Albany. Nothing very exciting but very nice Fish and Chips made
with local fish. Battered or pan fried. The taste was helped by the price. Friday Night Special - $20 including a pint of any beer on tap or any soft drink.

Pork scotch fillet.

My experiment with fried mashed potato and chopped brown onion. It may not look good but I can assure you that it tasted great.

Phenomenal food and service at the Black Footed Pig by the water in Hobart a few weeks ago. A little pricey but did not disappoint.

Would say, his Cheesecake trumped my Tarte.
A pleasant way to spend an afternoon 🥂

More greens sorted @TheRealTMA I promise.

At a surprisingly reduced $30 per kg for Tomahawks compared to the minimal bone Rib Eye/Cattleman's Cut @ $64 per kg, think we may come out in front!

Sounds a good deal. Prefer just rib on the (short) bone or aged bistecca ( big t bone).

Todays lunch today at Lobster cafe Bondi Westfield food court.
Mrsdrron the garlic lobster and I seafood grill for one. Mrsdrron disappointed as a smaller lobster than previous visits but with a half bottle of wine and a beer just over $90.

Halfway through what ended up about 6 (?) hours of un-rushed food and wine one lazy lunch/afternoon. Good, simple things are fantastic. I super-rate Bvlgatta :)

Marked down lamb leg in slow cooker. I cooked for around 6-7 hours. Oregano, black pepper and salt. It was too big for slow cooker so had to cut and snap in the middle. I started testing the lamb early on while pink and juicy and then fell asleep for grandpa nap in afternoon and it cooked an hour longer but still nice.

Wife had some of the lamb which means it wasn't a bad effort as she only ever eats when I fry lamb/pork/beef.
