What I ate today - the food thread

Yes. I first had it in a Persian cafe for breakfast in Melbourne and it is indeed lovely. Must check out Gouger St.

Friday early evenings best for walk by tastings of product, and occasional Pop-up local Wine and other stuff tasting stalls.
The Markets are online I think with calendar etc.

Anything from WildOz Crocodile and Emu thru to Truffles and Persian fairyfloss, Seafood mongers (really cheap Yabbies and Blue Swimmer Carbs when in season), produce, and great end of evening sales often.
Beats anything in Syd imho, make an evening of it.

The Rendezvous (if so called now) is fairly nice, get a corner room with Balcony.
Good coughtails at the Sebel Playford (again if still called as such).

Though, some of these things I mention need cooking....but also, Wild OZ will pack for airtravel with notice, Iced up n ready to go.
Fishos prolly will too?
Then off to McLaren Vale with you for some serious and varied wine tastings ;) (Try out Fox Creek Reserve range, Cracking Shiraz, but also their mid range often compete equally to the reserve)

A 1.2 kilo crispy pork knuckle with Kolch gravy, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Washed down with a few glasses of Kolch very yum.
Only managed to eat about half the meal.

Pizza. 1 x salami & 1 x vegetarian. You can choose from 3 different bases: wheat, buckwheat or gluten free. And if you want to spice things up a bit along comes a jar of chilli and garlic.

Love Sake - it's one of my go to restaurants in Sydney. Especially love the lunch salad bowls from Sake Jnr (and the yuzu cheesecake!)

Not the best photo but a nice rich Laksa on a chilly winters day really hits the spot. Sawak Cafe in Hobart.
