What I ate today - the food thread

I do like that raspberry and lychee cake from Blackstar. Back when he first opened in Newtown, that was my local and on my dog walk route. Sadly there is now usually at least half a dozen people in a queue out the door - so the locals avoid it.

Stayed at a pension in Hermagor in Austria a couple of weeks ago, the included breakfast was as good as anything I've had in any hotel, fresh quail and chook eggs from their own birds, vegies and salad items came from their own garden.
Home made jams and pickles, I think the bread/rolls were brought in, as were the cold cuts of meat, but probably not much else. I don't normally take photos of food, so photos of the self serve area will have to do.

We are the proud owners of a new portable gas pizza oven (so nowhere near as fancy as @Steady's) but wanting the kids to grow up on something more than Dominos.

Friday night is pizza night, so for the last couple they've enjoyed helping with their toppings (only aged 8 and 10, they have simple tastes whereas their parents raid the fridge and larder):

This was the first attempt 2 weeks ago. Salami, Chicken and Camembert. Got the cooking time down pat for both "empty" and "full" pizza's
