Glad you had a good meal at the Fox and Hounds, Denali. We stayed there in April last year and I had one of the most ordinary meals I've ever had. It was meant to be rice with a spicy/chilli sauce. It was without any exageration, a bowl of boiled white rice with a sweet chilli sauce poured over the top. I'm sure it was from a $1 bottle that you can buy in any supermarket........
I can't remember what my better half had, but she didn't have any complaints, the beer was good as well and the room was alright as well, so the stay wasn't a complete fiasco!
Looks like we're going to be there again tonight as Gabrielles by the Bay is booked out for a conference until Friday, so its either drive 10+klms to Nubenna or the Fox again. Might try the pork tonight.
Lots of people were ordering the lamb shank yesterday and I made a comment to hubby about 2 plates being licked clean by the guests. I dont eat lamb so wont get to try it but there were lots of people hoeing into it.
The garlic bread was interesting. It was a freshly baked bread and a side of garlic butter - so basically a deconstructed garlic bread that I had to put together myself
