How was the service - never had good service there and meals very hit and miss - I would need a lot of convincing to go back
It was room service so only one interaction and it was fine. Much of the restaurant menu didn't appeal so I just went for a simple room service option but it was very nice.

Part 1 of todays progressive lunch - Depot, AKL. Oysters: Tua Tua and Orongo Bay, Russell and finished with some Bluffs. Also a king fish sashimi with oyster cream and fennel seeds. Washed down with a Nautilus Sparkling Rose.

Part 2: Fish, AKL. Great fixed price menu. We had the ceviche and cray fish 'mac n cheese' followed by the lamb and salmon. We went with a lovely Peregrine Pinot Noir. Stunning lunch and views to match.

I was told the other day (while enjoying the views with my excellent free* breakfast) that FISH had a new menu and chef, and was strongly encouraged to try it out. Maybe I will next week!

* fortunately work expenses covered the several hundred dollars for the room.

Day 2 of our sampling of Restaurant Month in Auckland. Lunch at Euro. For the mains we got them to split the portions and plate them separately for us, which is why they look a bit small. We had the gnocchi, the squid followed by the lamb and fish (hake) We went with the wine pairings too. A great winter menu.
