What I ate today - the food thread

Sometimes a meal, no matter how simple, is perfect. I love cooking, and almost each night I light the charcoal fire I have, but today had no meat ready, and was tired, so went to the little restaurant in this village, to chat to the owner, a friend, and get a Chilean version, if I may, of "fish and chips". The fish is called Congrio, more a conger eel than a fish. But to me, a fisherman, who has explored most things sea-wise, it remains probably my favorite simple fish dish. This is deep-fried congrio, with chips. The chips are hand-cut fresh potatoes. The side is bread and and a spicy chutney. And obviously lemon. Simplicity, but perfect :) A dish that will always remain one of my favorite ever. IMG_20181105_192730213.jpg

Planned to have BBQ today but then on Friday received call that there was an Endoscopy appointment cancellation at Royal Brisbane for Monday.

BBQ went ahead as planned with me cooking and smelling the food.
