As I have mentioned in the 2020 Travel Plans thread, we are going to Berlin next for the reunion of wife's German family roots. Yesterday we had an early Xmas lunch with a group of her relatives. It was a chance to discuss plans for the re-union as some of them will also be going. The five cousins are from Singapore, Kota Kinabulu and Sandaken.

In line with the Berlin trip the food had a bit of a German theme.

We started off with a Berlin favourite, Currywurst (served with home made spiced Berlin ketchup) and chips.



The main course included Beef Stroganoff, Bratkartoffein (Pan fried potatoes with bacon & onion, Rotkohl (Sweet/Sour Red Cabbage), Schnitzel, Wurst with sauerkraut, potato salad etc



We finished off with Apple Strudel, Cherry Strudel, Pfefferkuchen & Stollen. Plus fruit mince pies, cake etc.

Dinner the other night with friends Sadly forgot to take a photo before we carved it but it was superb. Melt in your mouth beef

Not being an adventurous person food wise I actually impressed myself lol a couple of times last month
Have to say the roasted artichoke was amazing and I will look forward to having it somewhere again I hope
