Pick ONE of the first six options that represents your current 'flying' status, ie. the one printed on your boarding pass. Please choose Platinum Extra instead of Platinum if you have passed 2400 SCs in your current year.

Also pick ANY of the other options if they apply, but only one of LTG/LTS.

There’ve been a few threads lately on the numbers of people in the Qantas Frequent Flyer program of a specific level. I realise this forum is geared mainly towards high flyers and aspiring high flyers, but I thought a poll seemed appropriate.

There was such a poll done in 2004, but it seemed to go very badly when members extolled the virtue of bumping others out of their seats (which funnily enough has been brought up here recently).

Please select your status level honestly. If you’re planning on hitting a level with travel already booked, you may as well select the higher level.

And I encourage all lurkers to participate in the poll too, lets get a really good cross section… not just the very active members who are pretty much all WP. I’ve kept choices private, but would hope there’s no fudging of answers ;)

I haven’t included the PG level as it’s not really a level, it’s halfway between WP and P1 and receives the same benefits as WP (for the member).

Gold here, but will be Platinum at end of March after flying to Melbourne for round 1 of the AFL.
Selected Gold before I read about future travel bit :)

Have to say I find this thread somewhat pointless from a statisical point of view, given QFF have 9M members.

True, but if enough of the 25,100 members participated, I’m sure the numbers would better reflect the program.

I left the poll private for that reason, so those lurkers don’t have to worry about being public, they can quietly vote away :)

I reckon it would be interesting, because although a lot of the information provided is by highly skilled upper-echelon travellers extracting the most from the program, it'd be interesting to see how many are "aspiring". I certainly am not the former and that's why I'm here - to pickup info from you experts!

Statistically this poll will not really mean that much. As said before, most forum members are gold and above so this poll will probably be more representative of this forum's membership levels rather than overall membership levels.

Wait... There's such a thing as Chairmans Lounge Platinum One?

There sure is, CL is gifted and not based on actual flying. a CL P1 is a CL who actually flies a lot.

I voted Platinum, but there needed to be an "aspiring for P1" option, because I'm headed for it this year :)

Yes. I've seen a boarding pass with it printed.

Most CL's get it through their position but don't fly that much. If you receive CL and fly a lot, you could become CL P1.

I would love to see what that card looks like! Probably just the CL card with Platinum One written across it like the regular P1 card (P1 emblazoned across the WP card)?

Huumph - and how do I vote for Lifetime Gold after being Platiniumumum (can't say Platinum!) for 8 years and now retired??????

JB

Platinum but can't vote on the iPhone

Yes Sam, a few choices missing, i.e. WP LTS, WP LTG for example.

Ask a mod to add two more options and I'll go WP LTG

Actually, there should be (it can't be done though) another poll within the poll, who has achieved WP and for how many consecutive years... mines since 2002/2003, not a bad run IMHO

As is the case for WP + PG I didn’t think there were any extra status benefits from having LTG. If you’re WP and have LTG or LTS then your Platinum benefits outweigh your LT benefits. If you drop down to LTG eventually, you get the Gold benefits… unless there’s something I wasn’t aware of other than 'lifetime'?

Yep LT Gold, far from retired but have certainly "retired" from QF with a whole 35 earned SC's earned/flown on QF during my last membership year. Benefits are the same, but different beast to someone who keeps the 600 SCs ticking over.

No choice for Platinum with Lifetime Silver?

Oh and I see that in this poll Platinum is only a few rungs above Bronze. I can remember a time when Platinum actually meant something....

Happy NB.......was silver once and may make it again next year but there is no work travel/income deductable travel so its all on my own $
