Not sure if this is the right thread.
I will hit SG with QF shortly , and with the flying I have planned will have about 1050 SC's by mid July.
that means I would need to do some serious flying before the 31st August to hit WP. (350 SC's)
my question is if I fail to maintain gold in the following membership year, would QF look at my rolling 12 month numbers and let me stay Gold. or is it lilkely they just give me a soft landing back to silver the following year after that? ...i hope i have not been too confusing here

I believe it's back to Silver but you never know! They comp'd me Plat after missing one year

Always been Bronze, but will crack Silver just before my year resets at the end of April for the first time.

Interesting that so far there are 69 Platinums and 43 Platinum +. Doesn't that sound disproportianate or is that indicative of AFF?

In my opinion it goes part of the way to showing how Qantas are trying to thin out Platinum and perhaps merge with Gold as looking at the numbers it may make more sense. Either that or I am just trying to justify my conspiracy theory! ;)

I'd expect AFF to be top heavy with plats, plats+.

Exactly.

The poll results so far are what I would expect a frequent flyer board to be.

However if this poll was taken in a few years I'd bet there would be more SG than WP and above.

.... and who will have caused the shift :?:

I agree to a certain extent. The proportion of Platinum over Gold does not really explain the proportion of Platinum + over Platinum. Perhaps it is me that does not quite comprehend.

I still think a more indicative category as to where the QF FF level populations are headed would be how many QFF members are OW Emerald or OW Sapphire with one of QF's partners.

But I wander (as normal)

Bear in mind , a lot of you guys do some insane travel.
So WP is not going to be difficult for some of you.
If you were to do a different job. Would you pay the fare and do the travel if you were paying from personal resources? (boss Reggie and others excepted).

I am one of the guys doing insane travel and including my weekly commute still struggle to get much past Platinum.

And it comes out of my own pocket....

For QFF currently on 1,630 SC's, 94,000 miles from 35 flights & 224 hrs BIS and still 5 months until FF year ends. All work related travel.

No, I would not pay the fare and do the travel if I was paying for it personally. Particularly if the travel involved 7 trips to India in 8 months.

(PS - This doesn't include the 32k *A miles flown in the last 18 months with another 10k to be completed in the next week to requalify *A Gold)

Interesting that there are so many P1s compared to CLs, given there are meant to be 3000 P1s and 7000 CLs.

Most CL’s don’t care about points, and frequent flying, they’re given it as an honorary sort of thing, so wouldn’t be on this site. However, P1’s certainly do, so you’d be likely to find more here.

There’s also the possibility a few members couldn’t help themselves and faked their answer.

Interesting that at least for AFF, Bronze and Silver members are about equal.

We do have a lot in the multiple Platinum camps though.
