Was WP couple of years ago, dropped to Gold, Silver and bronze, and back up to Silver which, in the benefit scale of things means virtually nothing. However, I have Life QP so my travel nowadays being based more on cost than loyalty with DJ getting more of my flights.

How close are you to life time ( anything). It trikes me , one could end up life time old or better without ever making gold or WP. It would take a few years maybe.

Wouldn,t you be thinking ,according to the graph some 20% of members being paid Qantas club members that their should be more benefits available to these members, or is it a case of we,ve got your money so you will fly with us any way?

They paid for their benefits at the level they are (or as in many cases a higher level that has been reduced). As people continue to renew and join, and presumably the numbers haven't dropped significantly, Qantas seemingly sees no need to entice them any more than they are.

Today was a special day in my life as QF750 ADL - SYD tipped me over the edge to Platinum after 2 years at Gold. This year it has been 95% personal spend when in previous years it has been more like 50%. Better use of cash and points have helped to increase my status so I thank all of you at AFF who provide such excellent knowledge and guidance!

I have also planned a lot of our trips for next year and see Platinum being retained for a 2nd year too! :D

Just in time for Europe and Africa trips in the next 2 months.

Need to re-open the Poll!

Am now LTS and need to update this hallowed milestone  into my response :)

Congratulations , what a great feeling that must feel like.
I couldn't happen to notice that you might be from Newcastle in the UK going by your user name, uber cool!

Congrats on reaching Platinum! Glad you'll get to enjoy some of the benefits soon. :)

I too have just made Platinum. Only joined up 2 years ago. First year went quickly from Bronze to Sliver to Gold, and then a recent Biz class trip to the UK with MAS has knocked me over into Platinum to June 2014!

Yikes! Currently already booked on a UK holiday in Y+ in September, but have a few dom flights coming up over the net few months also. Be great to see the inside of the First lounge at SYD.

Assume that First Lounge (with the wife?) at Dubai is accessible also?

Welcome to the Platinum family. Looking forward to welcoming you and your family at the lounge and on board later this year. :)

It's only been a year (and a bit)... next you'll be telling me I need to recreate the poll every year :p

That is correct! ;P

I guess it would be interesting to see how status levels shift over differing years. Either 1st January or 1st July would be nice dates for a AFF census.

Im curious to know, particularly with all the other WP1's out there. What state do you all come from? I'm from WA.

Would be great if this poll could get modified for loactions, or another poll added for a FF status level location.

Another platinum one from Perth.. Almost impossible to fly from Perth internationally now so the benefit is not as good as over in the east I'd imagine.

WP from CBR. Used to live in Syd with little status, but all the connections through SYD/MEL/BNE to get anywhere overseas now certainly helps!
