Mine was actually quite disappointed - still young and romantic. :)

:p. Ours was our age. She understood. Her husband was about to undergo a hip replacement the next day and SHE was not looking forward to his recovery period.

ah yes - the male ability to cope with illness :)

Another data point :
Was in 4A today on QF2 and for those who like to play with the window shades 4A has three instead of the usual two windows :D

It's okay until person in front decides they've had enough light and reaches around and presses the button to close it (had that happen to me) :(

I believe I did the same to MrP. The light behind was really shining onto the TV screen. Couldn't see it.

Just snagged Syd-BOS run revenue F fare (thanks work!!! For some reason it was cheaper than the J fare) via AA booking (QF long haul code shares) Stopping at LAX, DCA and BOS, then back via DFW. Have 1A the whole way there and 3A the whole way back. Not really asking for advice, but it's my first F flight and am a bit excited and wanting to share. :-)

Actually, there is one piece of advice that I seek, if I may kindly ask the brains trust... This trip looks like earning 870SCs two weeks after my platinum anniversary. Considering I have LTG, should I ask AA for a status challenge? Am thinking that I average about 6 DOM and two Asia International flights in three months, is it worth swapping?

Thanks all :-)

That's a pretty tough call as none of the seats face each other at all.
You can dine together in one suite but that's about it really.
Personally I'd pick two consecutive Windows on the A side.

Thats exactly what I have done for our trip in October on QF7 with points, 2A and 3A

We had 4K and 5K on the way home and 3A and 5A on the way over to LAX. The only reason I prefer the A side is I sleep facing the window and I have had a right shoulder reconstruction and it can ache if I sleep on it for hours. I avoid row one as you can be disturbed by the toilets flushing.

Have F award seats on QF1 next May - have booked 2A and 3A for our trip to DXB... where we connect to EK in F for our flight into CDG :)

Rows 2 and 3 for sure A or K. Row 1 to close to the dunny.
This too close to the "dunny" argument is very specious IMHO and that of MrsTMA, who usually likes 1A and has never heard any "issues" from the "dunny", even when in use by refugees from Emerald City.

+1. I also like 1A - on almost all aircraft, I might add ;).

I actually found 1A a little noisy (loo and cupboard opposite), so I gave it to Mr FM who has no issues with it and it is his preferred seat, while I am entirely happy with 2A
