What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

Yet more evidence of how hard it is to predict currency movements and why you should always be sceptical when someone says they're confident the AUD is going to X or Y.

Would really like another 0.7644 buying opportunity regardless of whether it runs up a bit higher than that. I will buy 2 lots if it keeps going up as a 0.77 average is something I can enjoy.

The key event (imho) for the USD this coming week is Janet Yellen's speech Monday night. This is her chance to pull back from recent suggestions of another rate rise given the jobs report shocker on Friday (or to reaffirm them). For the AUD, we have the RBA on Tuesday of course, the Chinese trade data Weds, and the NZ rate decision Thurs is also of interest.

All these events versus buyers and sellers. Sometimes we know too much about events and not enough about buyers and sellers.

Up trajektorii this morning will it hold ?

Up trajektorii this morning will it hold ?

The AUD/USD is flat this morning. If we see any further rise towards 74 today then I expect this to be faded, given the impending speech by Yellen and the RBA tomorrow.
If we see 74 today I will be taking a quick short!
I bought some AUD/NZD on Friday at 1.0560. If the RBA stands pat tomorrow and the RBNZ cuts rates later this week, I will be a very happy man :)

That's what I keep saying

RBA board has kept interest rate steady so the Aussie has support at current levels. Against the USD, trading above 74 cents ATM.

That was me puting a floor under the Aussie at .7433 so that it would be 25 pips higher this morning. I had an overnight market watch at 0.75 but my mobile did not ring. I am running on Sydney time so it is still early in Perth.
