What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

You would know that many folks in the US live from pay check to pay check. A month without pay would mean missed rent ,missed car and credit card payments. It would take 12 months to get back to the way it was.
The damage to the US economy is growing quickly and the safe haven of the US dollar is being damaged. As a result so far the AUD is going up.

I know the permits for our Grand Canyon hike have been delayed.
 
The AUD$ is climbing again coinciding with me returning to Oz!!
 
Will be watching closely this week. Wouldn't mind getting some cash if it keeps climbing, impossible to know what it will be like by year's end but if it got to 0.75 I think I'd just take the safety of having it.

Wishful thinking perhaps...

If it get's anywhere close to 0.75, I'd see us locking in a heap at that rate - can't see it happening this year though.

Yes it's an incredible system that allows the world's economy to function this way. And so many people are required to show up for work, even without a paycheck. A Yankee mate of mine passed through DFW a couple of days ago and encountered a surly, rude TSA agent. He asked for her name to report her and her response was "My name is NO PAYCHECK!" Gotta feel for 'em.

How can you get cash? The exchange rate in Australia is awful. I’d be keen to get some USD except for that.
 
Well I was expecting a bit of movement on the GBP given the 'no' vote last night, however it's currently trading at its highest against the EUR/USD in quite some time and holding steady against the AUD.
 
More buyers than sellers last night CE. The market heard we had just finished our European and US adventures.
 
With iron ore prices rising sharply due to Brazil stopping 40 million tons of production I am thinking the $AUD may start rising later this month. Just a guess....
We did do an option to get 0.7355 so we are happy with that.

Something is going to need to help - it's been sinking quicker than shares in Darren Weir Racing!!!
 
The boom/bust of real estate in Sydney and Melbourne is not helping the Australian dollar with the Reserve Bank thinking an interest rate cut may be needed to stop the building industry from total collapse.
Two weeks is a long time in the foreign exchange markets......
That Vale dam failure in Brazil was a major failure with many deaths and many missing. The authorities may take quite a long time determining safety of more than just one location.

CE horse racing is not something I bother with so Darren Weir Racing shares can sink faster than our $AUD.
