Where will you go first when the bans are lifted?

For a break either the HK / Taiwan which I had to cancel or Japan. Otherwise, SG for work.

I was doing site research in Japan when borders started closing so I cut my work short by several weeks to avoid problems traveling home via SIN. I’ll go back and finish up my tasks when able to so do without quarantines and border closings.

To visit family locally first, for sure.

However, we have oneworld classic award business flights to London on Qatar Airways at the end of August, flying home business on Singapore Airlines using Kris flyer end of September.

Will be so disappointed if we can't go...do you know how hard it was to get that Qatar flight?!

If we have to cancel I doubt we'll ever be able to get it again with Qatar, but as a compromise can try for Emirates business/first in 2021.

I will snap up whatever is sufficiently on special as I am not in a risk group (nt 75+, no hypertension and nicotine free. I have no idea why airtravel is banned when one could take a 5 day course of hydroxychloroquine (plaquenil) together with Azothyioprine, and the same on arrival. First class pax can afford this richmans solution and airport hotel quarantine. Granted the side effects are not nice.

I note visiting your old folks is not #1 in this list. Remember inheritances!

If a cruise, I will not handle the food trays - bring on the coconut crab. Else Rome and Madagascar would be high up.

Back to Austria, to pick up my stuff and see the friends I didn't get to properly say goodbye to before leaving.

2021 sailing in the Whitsundays with a group of friends and Europe to see my son in Berlin Later in the year, all travel both domestic and OS cancelled for this year lost some money on some flights around the Greek islands but hoping for a credit to use next year.

My first would be to NZ.

But I don't expect anything to open up this year. Expecting boarders to re-open this year is wishful thinking.

This post assumes you arrived home safely

Given the cost of airfares to ASP (from anywhere) and the now reduced price of motor vehicle fuel, maybe that around (or at least a major part of) Oz trip will come to the top of the list....
Family.....

Wondering about wandering

I have been making plans for the past 18 months to visit friends in the US, the UK and Thailand, after completing studies in October. I'm really hoping this crisis is over by then and that the world, although battle-weary, will be starting to find its feet again and opening up, to travellers from near and far.

On the homefront, I'll be hitting some of the regions here in SA that were hit by the bushfires earlier this year (man those seem like an eon ago) - work got in the way of doing this earlier and now I'm trying to do my bit, by not heading out if it isn't necessary.

Time will tell if I can still do this - my work relies upon international travels, so it's been in limbo since China was put into quarantine and cash flow from this work has dried up to 0. Time will tell; for now, all I can do is wait it out, be frugal and keep working towards graduating and rewarding myself with a trip to celebrate.

Tassie booked for end of August, hoping that can still happen.
I have paid for ticket for friend to visit us from USA end of October, so fingers also crossed for that to happen.
Next year..... need to sit down and plan.

I’ve got flights booked for late July to NZ, it was to see my first grandchild due in June.
My daughter and her hubby had been living in NZ with him fifo to WA. Much to my horror they went to Bali!! They came to their senses and flew back to Perth in the nick of time and still in quarantine. So looking like she’ll have bub in Perth and be staying for 6 months or so.
So if flights resume, I am thinking thats unlikey. NZ will be my first point of call when all safe. I keep thinking any day the airline will cancel.

Back to Perth on VA the first chance I get to sit with the family and have the biggest BBQ man has ever seen...and maybe a few glasses of champagne to celebrate the fact we're around the same table again.

Holiday wise...perhaps Montreal & Vancouver.

JP trip booked for Nov. Not cancelling but also not holding my breath....:(
So yeah once I can back to Japan again!

Probably to Turkey with my wife to see her grandparents and then Spain, Marbella to have a nice relaxing week.

I've cancelled about 8 trips so far so essentially will be looking to do those again. Trips in July not cancelled yet but jury is out on that one...

Anywhere - still fingers crossed for a European Christmas but not counting on it

I'm hoping I will be able to head down to Oz with Mrs FB just before Christmas Day, first time we've tried in 10 years here!

I think Christmas is the earliest time we can start true movement. Goodness knows what the earth will look like then.

That will increase my cancelled trip number considerably higher then! One of the good things about being based in London.
