What would everyone be doing now if it wasn't for this nightmare?
I would have been in Nouméa again, drinking champagne on the beach of Îlot Canard inbetween snorkelling sorties and watching the sunsets sipping coughtails with friends at the Chateau Royale before dinner at one of many amazing restaurants which cater more to locals than tourists.
On the bright side, I have a new dishwasher instead.
A year without travel is going to pay for a lot of home improvements.
None of them look quite this good, though or be this much fun
.

Getting ready to leave Canberra this afternoon for Frankfurt via technical stop in Sydney and a few hours in Doha.

Given I theoretically pre-covid got back from my 5 weeks intensive holiday last week end and spent a few days sleeping in, doing some food shopping, unpacking, washing drying and putting away to the next time. I would be where I am now. Sitting on my backside at home contemplating what I have to do to get my records in order submission to the accountant in 6 weeks time. 😂

We have now left Japan after finally seeing Fuji-san in all it's glory.
Another pleasant flight HND-BKK enjoying typical JAL service and food.
Now in one of our Favourite hotels-Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit.A bitter swet this time as we will no longer be able to enjoy the music of our friend Randy Cannon in the Living Room as he left this earth soon after our last visit.

................. right at this moment somewhere at about 40,000ft liquored up to the eyeballs with Krug returning in F from SIN to MEL on 217 after o/n in SIN arriving from PEK yesterday - but alas that is all in my dreams as this is now 3rd China visit I have had to cancel so far this year.

Production of 4 containers way behind so I should be heading back to PVG again May 30 to inspect some product then quick trip back to OZ then onto 218 MEL-SIN Jun 11 again heading to LHR - aint gunna happen!

My brother and I would be in London, having had a marvellous flight in J with lashings of bubbles. The trip was a combination of his 70th & a gift from my family.Booked on points. He's not been back to the UK for 35 years. We'd have been recovering from a Cousins' family gathering - about 50 relos were to be attending, to greet us.Sadly one of my darling cousins passed away last week as a result of CoVid (though she was ill in hospital already)Then 3 weeks in and around London, with him desperate for some pubs and Ploughman's Lunches. Fingers crossed for same time next year

I would probably be in Fiji right now, visiting family and the beaches ofcourse :)

And then upon my return, I would have been packing my bags for a permanent move to Doha for the next decade or so (I was in the process of being recruited into Qatar Airways as a FA - obviously this will not happen right now) 😔.

We are now on approach to SIN on the CX flight BKK-SIN.
Will checkin at the CP Changi and wander over to Jewel tonight for a bit of dinner.

In Hong Kong for my last night before taking the late Sunday/early Monday flight to Barcelona.

A few months I was most concerned about the 3 days I would have to spend in Hong Kong due to this unknown virus that had appeared & ongoing protests. Turns out it would have been far & away safest place to visit healthwise. Times they are a changin'

Last night we arrived into LHR after enjoying our SQ A380 suites and the great FA's looking after us so well.
Managed to find our driver Who took us to a very nice apartment in Mayfair close to Hyde Park.
Getting ready for Next Week's Chelsea Flower Show.Have our tickets for the first day.The Queen always visits on the first day.

Unfortunately she won't be there to greet you and shake your hand with a white glove this year. She sends apologies but has retired to Windsor for the foreseeable future.

Last week I would have been in Netherlands with great tickets to see Australia front row in Eurovision. Now I’m off to catch flight for Bergen and following week seeing fjords and rail journeys, few days in Finland then home via Copenhagen (always with a visit to my favourite art gallery/sculpture park on earth - Louisiana). ...and greatful to have these choices even if never realised... for now

We had a replay on old Eurovisions instead and they asked people to vote on that. Bit of a rubbish night...

We would’ve Just landed in Tunis thanks to a Krisflyer redemption (still waiting on points and taxes refund from cancellation 5 weeks ago)
5 nights at La Badria before the end of this week flying to Porto, instead I’ll be at work tomorrow 😒
