Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

I got my new Mastercard today... nothing about free for life updated cards.... a mention of annual fee on paper work but no amount... new priority pass info included as now Mastercard... and under NAB

the ability to book travel through Citi Rewards directly will be discontinued from 1 September, and no bookings are being taken for dates after 31 August. Probably not hugely important (I never used it), but still, not a good trend...
It would have been the first time for me to use it so I guess I can't say I'll miss it.
So why worry?

I would be the one saying good riddance if I were to wear my day job hat.

Me: Hey IT, how hard is it to port the travel service over?
I.T.: Don't know man, we have never don't this before. We only know how to API into our mainframe, not to this travel agent wholesale inventory system.
Me: Is this gonna take long? Painful?
I.T.: Can't tell, cos we have never done this.
Me: Does anyone use this?
I.T.: Look at Melso and Happy Dude, been active customers for 30 years, but not used this function once.
Me: Hey big potato, you hear that? Customers been here for 30 years and never used this thing once, ever. Can we just abandon this PITA?
Big potato: Yeh sure!
Me: Hey Legal, I have checked everything, here is my 1 paragraph notice to customers to kill this travel thing off. Cool?
Legal: You have given enough notice, all good to me.
Me: Hey IT, send this paragraph to customers, approved by legal. Send this out and you won't have to do port the travel service over.
I.T.: That's fully sick bro!

And this would be the end of discussion, and the name of this travel service would never be mentioned again by anyone ......

So my take is, don't read too much into these things sometimes.

I'm glad my card has a 2027 expiry date then. Used my 2nd Priority pass this year just last weekend. Made sure I achieved full value - arranged connecting flight to get there just as it opened & had around 3 hours to use it. As I left there was a queue of around 20 people waiting to get in.

So just changed from Premier Vsa to Mastercard.(Free for life)
Setup new priority pass.(card has new number)

Now I get a new anniversary physical priority pass via original priorty pass attached to old visa card???

Will it still work... letter says free 2 passes????
Or will it attempt to charge old expired card???

Presumably you could set up your new account with linked card number, then go back and change the card number on the old PP account to your new card and enjoy four lounge entries...

So going to my original PP I'm unable to change/Edit card info from VISA to Mastercard.... no option just Visa only to select?????
This to prevent linking new Mastercard 🤔

I don't think you are supposed to link your old card, I think you get a new card. It's funded by Citi so it's locked in. This is from memory.

Merlo Cafe Brisbane near Qantas no longer accepting Priority pass 😡
Took two attempts to go thru with Graze Bar and Grill Brisbane

Edit: But as per Priority Pass App Gate 40 Food hall Merlo Cafe had sign and does accept PRIORITY PASS! 😳

Nourish by Lora Jane seems to have disappeared in Terminal 2 Sydney for Priority Pass 🧐

So it's been 12hrs and my priority pass app still says 2 passes available after using one yesterday? 🤷‍♂️

I had to create a new PP account with my new Mastercard to get the PP offer to (re-)activate. Don't remember the code you need to enter - but I got it via the Citi online help line. (The PP system does seem to do a check back to Citi to check your ID. e.g. It wouldn't let me use a new email address).

I have had the Citi Premier card fee free for life card for around 20 years!
Last year maybe Jan/Feb (might've even been late 2022) I triggered Citi to send me the PP offer (2 passes) by signing up to a new PP membership (geez, I must have like 5 accounts with them now...need to create a new membership with each new credit card I churn). Used 1 pass March 2023 and still have 1 left.

Now I am travelling again, I want to know...It's well over 1 year since those 2 passes were issued so I should get another 2 passes, right?
Do the new passes come through automatically or do I need to contact Citi to issue them? Or do I need to sign up to yet another PP account with the Invitation Code from Citi? Surely I don't have to do that each year?
(Edit: got my dates wrong...just updated the above. It actually hasn't been 1 year)

So I just phoned Priority Pass to find out about the 2 new passes with each membership year.

Turns out that each PP membership expires after 1 year. I got my last 2 passes Feb 2023, so my membership expires in Feb 2024.

I need to contact Citibank after then to issue the 2 new passes - which means generating yet another PP account as there is no option in the online wizard to renew the passes to an existing PP account. Seems kinda odd to me - I would think if the CC is active then renewal of the 2 PP passes would happen automatically. But the nice customer service person I spoke to at PP was quite explicit as I reiterated my question...definitely need to contact Citi to renew as the PP membership expires.

This is despite this sentence in the T & C
"The total number of complimentary visits will be reset to two at the beginning of each membership year while you remain a Citi Premier Cardholder."
Each membership year from my understanding is not membership year of holding the CC, but rather membership year of PP. And year here is not calendar year - it's taken from the year you joined up to PP, i.e. the date you decided to actually take up the Citi offer and go through the steps as mentioned in Complimentary Priority Pass Membership

And then you need to do that each year. Well, that's according to PP anyway. Will see what happens come Feb 2024.

What?! I have never had to do that.
You mean the annual free entries, right? I have used the free entries using the same PP account I have had for years.

Same here, except when I had to register for a new account after Citibank changed my card from Visa to Mastercard
