Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

What?! I have never had to do that.
You mean the annual free entries, right?
Yeah, that's what I mean.

I had to register for a new account after Citibank changed my card from Visa to Mastercard
I hadn't travelled since Citi swapped from Visa to Mcard so Feb last year I signed up for PP and got my passes as per your comment @AIRwin .
So looks like I'll just wait until Feb 2024 and see what happens. Seems like they'll just renew automatically then?

An easy data point - do you get a monthly (or so) email from Priority Pass telling you about new lounges etc?

If you do then all should be fine, if not time to check your PP App and click on the regular update option (IIRC).

Glad I hung onto this card, I stopped using it many years ago when the points earn became so devalued but I figured the CitiDining Wine (for a while) and the 2 Priority Pass visits were worth the 15k limit
But now you can get the limit down to 10k and almost all the other cards are coming back.
It will start to be my main Krisflyer earner next year (with the AMEX devaluation) trying to use the linked Diners as much as possible

Oh thanks for mentioning that new minimum limit! will be helpful to bring that down a bit to increase my 'capacity' to hunt for points on other cards. I have got too many at the moment that I want to keep :)

p.s. I wouldnt downgrade the Citi free for life limit from $15k to 10k yet. I will wait until NAB shows its hand what they will do with this product. Its possible that a 10k limit would slot into a lower standard product than a 15k one.

For comparison, NAB currently has their Premium credit card with a minimum limit of 15k. IMO all NAB card products are rubbish compared to whats elsewhere, so it remains to be seen whether they will drag the Citi products down to their level or upgrade their own. I am inclined to think it will be the latter, NAB didnt buy Citibank just for the clients.

"Yes, it's on their timeline that the Citibank branding will be retired in Australia with NAB to take over all the accounts (which means conversion to NAB transaction accounts – no word yet on what will happen to BSB and account numbers etc). Most likely will start happening by the end of 2023 based on what I read from a NAB release earlier in the year."

Anyone know if it's "my life" and not cards in terms and conditions of FREE FOR LIFE?

What is it there if I lose this due to NAB?

Things like these are generally for the life of the product. You pay once you get to use Office 2000 for life, but that's the life of the product, not your life, because if it's your life, MS would have to make it compatible with Windows 11.
You buy a fancy Henkel can opener, you get warranty for life. They guarantee that it will keep working for the life of the product; but Henkel is not going to guarantee your life that you would have a can opener for your life, if suddenly all can food products change from a cylinder can to a square can.
So if NAB wants to, they could discontinue the product and simply say goodbye.

You cannot sue Microsoft when they discontinued updating all their Microsoft Encyclopedia products because they killed it off.

And just in case, don't call up Citi / NAB and ask questions on this. You don't ask, IT may just migrate all the settings of our accounts including the $0 annual fee. We fly under the radar. You call up and ask, they start investigating, and may just decide to kill this off, and you would ruin it for yourself and everyone.

its not necessary that BSB and Account numbers will change.

Regarding the Free for Life, just check the terms of the offer that you took up. If you didnt keep a copy, I didnt either, then we are both screwed if NAB choose to cancel it.

Dont forget NAB paid a premium to acquire the Citibank customers AND products (the customer database would have been much cheaper) Whats the logic in thinking that their first priority is to lose them. I already have a free for life credit card with NAB for being a shareholder. They cancelled that benefit years ago, the Card product has changed at least once since, yet i still have retained the benefit.

FWIW, I grabbed a copy off web.archive.org a few years ago when the NAB takeover was announced. EDIT - here tis...

All it says re the annual fee is "$0 annual fee for life (annual saving of $395)".

What 'life' is involved is not specified, although I'd read it as 'as long as you hold that product or a successor product, you won't be charged an annual fee'...

I've kept the original offer letter, will have a look this weekend and update

Come to think of it, I did too...

Mine says (under Annual Primary Cardholder Fee): "$0 while you hold a Citibank Rewards Credit Card Signature" and in relation to additional cardholders "$0 per additional cardholder".

I really enjoy the 2 visits for free to the Plumeria lounge in Honolulu, always thinking kindly of Citi's marketing/product person who came up with the idea of 'free for life' & '2 free passes a year'.

yep read through the whole pack front-to-back-to-front, including the 3rd page "Key facts about this credit card".

same exact wording as per above so didn't proceed to put up any photos. in hindsight probably good time to stay under the radar too

I've received an email from Citi today stating that my Citibank Plus Transaction Plus account will be moved to a "similar" NAB branded account with a change to the BSB and account number and a shift from Citi Online to NAB IB. This is expected to occur by March 2024.

The main issue will be if it still allows fee free overseas withdrawals/transactions. But couldn’t see any info regarding that yet

Seemed pretty clear in the email that they weren't changing the fees.

While there will be some changes to your Citibank Plus Transaction Account, the essential features, including interest rates and product fees and charges, will remain the same.

As far as the Free for life premier card goes, I see no reason to believe they will start charging a fee. They may drop the PP card though,

the letter said in very clear language that fees and charges will remain unchanged.
