Who isn't Gold with Velocity these days?

Didn't say switch, just try the food now and then.

Me personally? Tried it once, arrived almost 1.5 hours late.

I'm sticking to a service that, in 10 years, has never been more than an hour late for me.

On a secondary level I have published my yearly requirements, so if you can tell me how to meet that with VA/DJ for what I currently pay tell me how?

Gee Noob my son tried the sky restaurant called Virgin with a chicken wrap.....
I don't think you will get him back!
Have you fixed the stonewalling at the call centre because the problem never got reported to a manager?
Now that is what got us offside as a whole family.

Give the Business team a call at Virgin and I am sure they would beat your
current deal: 1300 246 498 (option 1)

Also VA's on time performance is almost on par with that of QF right now, and it is high on VA's agenda to beat both their on time performance record each month and QF. Their goal is to be Australia's best on time performer by the end of the year.

Nah, I'll stick with my current schedule. (My travel is booked through to June 2011.)

I like the 380 too, and the QFF program gives me exactly what I need.

I took up the comp offer, but am unlikely to be chasing renewal since my NZ Gold Elite Status will suffice. I consider my situation unusual bieing both a WP and *E as well as being an OZ National/Residents.

The only thing I'd be lacking is the any time access but rarely used same with QF anyway.

Do you work for Virgin or are you just their number one fan?

Sent from my iPhone so please ignore auto corrects!

I'm not answering that question again.

All I am doing is encouraging you guys to keep your eyes open not straight out swap!

Gotta say it's coming across like a real serious case of fanboyitis.. Noob, we're all entitled to our own decisions, please leave the folk that want to stick with QF alone (besides, do you really want the VA lounges as crowded as a QP on a Friday evening?) :p

At the risk of further inflaming what seems to be a growing divide in this forum, I am really starting to question why it is that both Qantas "lovers" and Virgin "lovers" cannot peacefully respect each other's preferences. Let's face it neither Airline is perfect, and as in any Community there will be some who have a strong loyalty and preference for one over another.

What surprises me here is that when I read the various posts celebrating the positives of the new Virgin Australia there are certain AFF members who will repeatedly "slam" the poster accusing them of anything from being a Virgin employee to "remember the war" comments of their last Virgin flight in 2002. ... Just a slightly different product.

It would appear that in many cases the posters who are so vocal in their criticism of the pro Virgin posters have not even flown Virgin in recent times, so it puzzles me even more why they feel it is appropriate to take a morally superior position just because their Airline of choice is QF.

I have only been forum member for a year, and in that time I have seen the number of posters who are supportive of Virgin grow strongly. Unfortunately in that time the number of "attacking"style of emails directed at vocal DJ supporters seems to grow too. Interestingly I see similar posts re the positives of QF escape with very little, if any, bagging by DJ loyalists.

Intelligent and stimulating discussion is healthy, bagging is not. I would hope that over time that the participants on this forum who do see their opinion as being superior, simply because their choice is QF, will accept that DJ is here to stay. That does not mean they have to change their habits, nor do they need to even like DJ, but gee it would be great if DJ posters could posts their opinions without feeling that they may be the next target!

Geez Noob chill out, you are doing Virgin more harm than good, by pretending. If you dont work for them, just lose a bit of passion, because Im ready to Hurl.

why it is that both Qantas "lovers" and Virgin "lovers" cannot peacefully respect each other's preferences.

More than that, a minimum of two full service airlines is absolutely necessary to deliver the product we hope for/expect. For that same reason, I do really hope Tiger comes back (safety concerns sorted, of course) to ensure Jetstar stays competitive at the LCC end.

I'm supporting DJ currently because they favour my flying needs more than QF. Simple as that. The fact that the DJ model is moving in a direction that's of real benefit to me is just the icing on the cake, but on Sunday I'm flying QF simply because DJ don't offer the flight I require and
those who prefer QF for whatever reasons, well that's great as well......................

Long live healthy competition and economic conditions that allow for multiple airline choices in Oz, I say :)

Mate, I don't work for VA

I just don't get why these people come and post in the virgin forum that they will never even try Virgin....

My post was in reply to being asked "tell me how they can beat my current deal?" - I have know idea, so I gave him a phone number LOL.

Whats wrong with passion, or someone actually answering a fellow members question and thus adding value to the forum? This forum would be empty if its members were all apathetic!

So long as the QF crowd leave those who want to stick with DJ alone also.

Exactly.

Me? I'm happy getting best value from both airlines. Takes a bit of time, an hour just spend booking 5 flights in November. But I gotta love the DJ CC surcharge system when booking one way flights vs QF slugging me $7.70 for a one way flight. Of course, a small price to pay when DJ were at least $104 cheaper than QF. Plenty of room for baggage and a banquet in that saving. With the added bonus that I can buy the cheap fares 3 months in advance rather then the 6+ months required to get cheap fares with QF.

Nothing wrong with passion, I applaud passion, I enjoy passion, there is not enough passion in the world (Or my life anyway). But too much passion on a forum may be considered obsessive, or perhaps kinky, depending on the forum:lol:

Well another who is not a gold virgin.First they didn't comp AA plats.Second velocity is to me very poor value
For example 2 weeks ago I flew BNE-MKY.The ticket was bought the day before so was expensive.JQ plus was $20 more expensive than DJ.
But the DJ fare was still T class so I earn a massive 1230 Velocity points.
On JQ I would have earnt 1000 QFF miles.
On QF(but $100 dearer) I would have earnt 1000 QFF or AA miles-was V class.

Then to burn-Recently got a J award BNE-AKL through AA-17500 miles.
If I did it on QF-36000 miles.
For Velocity Y+ is 58,300 points.

Just doesn't do it for me.

Members earn 5 Points per $1 spent with Velocity, was that expensive BNE-MKY fare $24?
