Why OH Y? [Y PAX using J lavatories]

I've gotten up to go to the toilet and have been directed to use the front toilet by crew or CSM. Should I say "Thanks, but I'm not entitled to use these toilets!"?

No. It is just that that direction superseded the earlier direction.

Sure but the "business class only beyond this point" is not strictly enforced. To what degree the cabin crew enforce it is entirely up to them. Whatever they say goes. And if they choose not to enforce it then its OK!, Even better if permission is granted!

That's the whole point it shouldnt need to be 'enforced'. It's only because we are a country full of bogans that will try anything to get something they arent entitled to that we have problems, not even an issue in so many other countries.

But this doesn't explain every other airline in every other country where the curtain is closed and people don't come forward. They have cart service on intra-Asian flights (full service with a full hot meal on the likes of Cathay Dragon's A320s, not just a packet of cookies and cup of tea like they have on Qantas).

That’s right they don’t have food they have gourmet meals.

It's really up to the crew's discretion. From experience on QF, most crew enforces 'the rule' that the front lav is used by J pax only. But there has been the occasional exception where a passenger was directed by the cabin crew to the front lav.

I'll use the front toilet if ok to do so. I'll accept business class headsets. I'll accept business class wine/champagne/sparkling. I'll accept onboard op-ups.

I wont say "Sorry some on AFF think I'm not entitled and shouldn't accept". And by accepting doesn't make me a DYKWIA.

Did the long haul up to Bali recently on QF 737 in J. I heard someone call it the bogan express. Fantastic crew not one Y patron got through to the J lav but many tried and quickly got turned around and directed to the rear stalls.

Did long haul back with QF on 737 from Bali. Another fantastic crew that policed the J toilet intrusion with a vengeance. The announcement was that the toilets at the rear of the aircraft are for passengers seated in rows 4 to 30 and the toilets at the front are exclusively for Business passengers only. Not one incursion to J area for whole flight. Cart and no carts was not an issue. Was told by crew that something will be coming back to divide J from Y due to overwhelming complaints I guess. Perhaps a rope like VA. OMG what are the DYKWIAers that sit in row 4 going to do if that happens.

Never been a fan of the curtain, but I have to admit its removal's a little like torturing the pax in the front few rows.

"Here's what you could have had if you were richer/had more points/planned better/super lucky" Goes through my head every time as I sit there watching them get fed what looks like an actual meal as opposed to having a half sandwich thrown at you if you are lucky. Ah well. Sometimes it IS me.

Apparently overwhelming complaints since removing curtains. This is also old news on this site as this has been well reported and commented in another thread on AFF about the toilet issue and curtain removal and J incursions from Y. This is not a new issue. Had previously been reported that CSMs have been smashing QF management for sometime but may have finally made some ground. If any QF staff on here read this then perhaps you could chip in. VA have got it organised why not QF.
