Will Qantas Offer Double Status Credits before Mooted FF Program Changes in 2024?

65 flights booked and paid for
I sincerely hope that some of the flights are Flex, so that you can cancel & rebook to take advantage of the DSC (when it drops) and I could be wrong, but 65 flights might qualify you for P1, assuming of course some of those are long haul in J ?

As horrifying as it is, one could fly 65 golden triangle segments in discount Y and still not qualify for Gold……

Perhaps the appointment of the new loyalty person will have an impact on when/whether DSC is offered.

Honestly I doubt it.

these things have been a function over the years and (almost) like clockwork. The team(s) within loyalty will make those decisions (and probably already have, tbh) and I doubt the chief will have a lot to say about it (as the plans are probably already well along as is). Plus, this guy is from within the ecosystem already rather than a new view from outside of the company, so unlikely to be coming in with any kind of big change in mind.

could be wrong, but doubt it.

I just wish they would hurry up and drop the announcement so as I can book my OS trip for April and get it done! Unfortunately that is school holidays time so I hope that they don't have Blackout dates during the DSC promo for the school holidays!

I've never seen black out dates for DSC, just restrictions for QF marketed and operated during what is typically an 11th month travel window.

No blackout dates for within the travel promotion period... they just ensure that all airfares which may be of key interest are priced accordingly :p

Other than the booking window itself - last year the travel period commenced the day after that closed.

  1. Simply register for your choice of double Status Credits or double Qantas Points by 11.59pm (AEDT) 28 March 2023. All passengers in each booking must register separately to be eligible.
  2. Book an eligible Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number between 23 March and 28 March 2023, for travel between 29 March 2023 and 28 February 2024.*
  3. Include your Qantas Frequent Flyer number in your booking.

We seem to be talking about the double status credits earlier and earlier each year. :D
LOL - reminds me of my days as a volunteer firefighter - we used to run a sweepstakes on when the first Total Fire Ban would be - and then one year a total fire ban was declared in September - we hadn't even started thinking about the sweepstakes yet!

I think this question was in Newbie Questions and I jokingly asked where the prediction thread was and here we are. But without an actual thread, the question will probably get repeatedly asked for the next few months.

Every time a sale is finishing some hope a DSC is about to start. I wouldn’t expect a DSC till at least February when most people are back from holiday.
Red Tail sale ends tonight

guess we aren't getting a DSC offer tomorrow then as QF would look a bit silly offering 50% to RACP members today and then double SC's to everyone tomorrow
Unless they open a 50% SC boost to RACP today and then to the general public tomorrow, so they get a 1 day jump on 1.5SC which I hope isn't the case. Anything else prior to 14 Feb would be truly illogical.

FWIW QF dropped a 50% SC bonus offer for RACP members today.
From the wording on the Qantas page, this seems to be targeted to a number of businesses/companies. What's interesting to me is that the T&C's excludes you if you've participated in past bonus status credit offers.

That and the very narrow window for completing flights makes me hope that the future general status credit offer does not follow a similar pattern.

This offer is only valid for employees, who are nominated by their employer and have not participated in a bonus Status Credit offer in the last 6 months. This offer is not transferable. Employees must (a) register via the registration link with their work email address before 14 February 2024, (b) book and travel on an eligible flight between 12.01am AEDT 1 March 2024 to 11.59pm AEDT 31 May 2024.
