Will Virgin's Premium Lounge Entries open back up at some point?

“We know time is important for our most frequent flyers, and our expanded security facilities in Brisbane and Melbourne are a ticket for loyal guests to quickly move through the screening process, so they can spend more time enjoying our lounge experience prior to their flight.'

''Sydney Elite clients, our largest city, can get stuffed, and can continue to very slowly move through the screening process, so they can then spend little or no time enjoying our lounge experience prior to their flight.''

Big FAIL Jayney.

Passenger numbers are back to pre COVID levels, fares are higher, and Virgin is still nickel and diming.

My understanding is that it's a Sydney airport issue rather than a Virgin decision. The airport is prioritising security staff in the main terminal rather than allocate staff to an exclusive security channel.

I feel like they should have made a compromise... Create a temporary priority channel in the main terminal for priority pax until they have the staffing to reopen premium entry.

Has anyone been through recently? I saw a post on Instagram from someone on the weekend (not someone I personally know) who says they made it through a premium security line that heads up to where the Amcal chemist is in T2?

Still not premium entry, but any fast track security line would be an improvement!

BNE premium entry was open on 22/8 prior to 6AM flights. The standard line was 1-2hrs+ and almost snaking out the building! The premium entry still took 30 minutes to get through. Hopefully virgin open the premium entry past 10AM.

ADL had a fast track lane and there was no one in the queue.

I don't know how new or widely known this is but at Sydney airport T2 on the ground floor near baggage collection there's an express security lane.

Was literally through security in seconds with no queue on a Friday night.

Were the requirements enforced?

I used that the other day and it was pretty quick compared to upstairs (but not instant).
On a second visit the signage wasn’t up so assumed it wasn’t open and went upstairs, which wasn’t too bad.

Mobile boarding pass wasn't checked. Regarding luggage, I had two pieces and they said nothing.

Great option while we wait for premium entry to reopen.

So how does it work from Baggage Collection area Sydney .. you can check in there?

Isn't this the old transfer security point? Always used to be a good option.

[Speechless]

It was not the VA or bne teams issue, it’s people take so long in the one lane to remove stuff from bag, laptops and take off jackets. They had staff asking them to get ready along the queue but people too busy scrolling or not thinking about the pair of keys in their pocket etc.

Breezed thru BNE Premium Lounge Entrance at 8:00 am this morning ... abouy hal dozen pax in front of me, thru in 5 minutes max.

Unfortunately no luck at 7:30am today.

Upstairs at departures was the usual circus wrapping around to the eastern side of the building.

Got dropped off on the departures floor at T2 yesterday, took the escalators down to arrivals and used the express path. It's arguably faster than premium entry except that you don't get dumped in the lounge.

I still don't think it's widely known as the queues were very long yesterday on the departures floor and express path was empty. The only people that seem to know about it are those traveling to the airport by train or saavy travellers (that are carry on only).
