According to reports, coronavirus vaccine is entering its final phase of testing and very soon we will have millions of coronavirus vaccine to be rolled out, hopefully from September.

By then, should a coronavirus vaccine is available, will you vaccinate it?

Personally speaking, as a 30 year old young person, I will not vaccinate myself with Coronavirus, because:

1. It is just a small flu for young people, we won't die;
2. The vaccine is rushed and I cannot guarantee if I vaccinate myself, I will be immune to Coronavirus and not get killed by the vaccine;
3. The coronavirus vaccine is just a step to reopen our borders so that we can travel overseas again.

I am not anti-vaxier, however I only think that Coronavirus vaccine is just a political ticket for politicians to explain to the public that they can now open the international borders again and ease off travel bubbles.

What do you think?

Apparently the upsurge in infections in Vic. has allowed for some vaccine testing to take place NoCookies | The Australian

I know the article is paywalled, but wanted to show the reference. The article states: " A Covid-19 vaccine developed by Flinders University Professor Nikolai Petrovsky" is proposed to enter Phase 1 human trials.

I can't read The Austrlian article either. Though the one sentence I could read indicates "wants to" rather than "is"
Hotspots on radar for testing of vaccine
Residents living in coronavirus hotspots in Melbourne may be targeted for human trials of an Australian vaccine.

So if someone can read The Australian the link is:

Some earlier non-paywalled ones.

The first human trial of a potential coronavirus vaccine developed in Australia has officially begun.

Two doses of COVAX-19, or a placebo, will be injected into 40 healthy people between the ages of 18 and 65 at the Royal Adelaide Hospital’s clinical trial unit
.

Hence why I quoted as "proposed". Makes sense though.

Even in a hotspot with maybe a 5% chance of getting infected, can't see a 40 person trial giving statistically significant results

They were starting that a couple of weeks ago at the RAH. Obviously no side effects so far...This group were doing well in developing a SARS vaccine but of course it went pffft before they could test further. He's been on the media frequently in SA since Covid started.

Yes really needs to do what some other trials are now doing. Testing in Brazil.

Florida would be a good candidate too at present too with 30%! postivity rate reported in some of their municipalities.

The early phase trials of vaccines aren't to test whether they are effective but to see if their are side effects and also to see that they induce antibodies to the target organism.
The trials to test effectiveness are the last to be done and they should be done with large numbers and over a longer time period.

So the Phase 1 trials mentioned in the Australian article can be done here.

Its a Phase 1 trial.

Not looking for whether it works...Thats Phase 2, then 3, 4. Then ongoing surveillance.

See here:

Phase 1 trial of Moderna vaccine has shown positive results, so that's good to hear.

Of course we will need to wait a little longer for their Phase 3 trial to start next week to know whether it is effective or not.

Hopefully it will be proven effective at least then we can see the beginning of an end to this pandemic.

It could be so effective that it also kills the humans. Perhaps we need to see if in case that happens as part of the trial.

Our bodies have this amazing thing called an immune system. This amazing system has kept us alive for billions of years.
We know there are ways to boost our immunity.
We also know that this virus does not affect large (healthy) groups of the population.

With that in mind -- if this virus is such a big risk.....
Why are Governments not mandating we consume only immune-boosting foods?
Why not mandate more sunlight exposure, as it boosts immune systems?
Why not remove alcohol & processed foods from sale, as they lower our immune systems?
Why not turn off mobile phone towers and lower radiation exposure, as radiating of all types of damages immune systems?

If there was a genuine, real concern for human health - these are the measures we'd see being taken.

What is the real agenda here?
An over-reaction of the immune system is causing a lot of the severe forms of COVID-19

There’s no real agenda here unless you subscribe to has-been chefs.

Some more developements with vaccines.
First looking at finding a vaccine that will work for Covid,SARs and possibly MERs.

And a Phase 1 result for a new mRNA vaccine.Patients develop high antibody levels-more than most post Covid infections.
But 2 problems. After the second dose of vaccine nearly everyone had mild to moderate side effects.
Also patients were 18-55.The vaccine is more important for older folk but none in the trial. Will it work for them?

Well CityRail it looks like you just have to arrange a trip to moscow to get your early vaccine.

What could possibly go wrong?

And - what about Australia's endless stream of 'world first' 'breakthroughs' being gazumped?

The cheek; the ignominy. 😜

Is this is a poem, because nothing actually rhymes? Perhaps free verse?

Russians now claiming that they have a vaccine, but upon closer inspection it seems they've only gone through Phase II trials so just a small number of soldiers that have been used to test it. Still some way away I would have thought...
