Wine Glasses, Decanters etc

Looking to buy a new decanter. Does anyone have recommendations and prices?
I have picked up a Riedel Performance Decanter for ~$48, twice (I broke my first one!) from Peter's of Kensington. It's used a lot more than my $$$$ Riedel Curly as it's much easier to clean...

The performance decanter is very thin in comparison to the Curly, but that's not the reason I broke it 😭

I have an old school traditional shaped one however I was eyeing this one after I saw it at a cellar door I visited in Mudgee.

I have this one but smaller (for half bottle). I just broke it in this month. now I bought this oil pourer instead of.

The U shape decanter is good, but just hard to clean, it has to be clean in dish washer.
I also have this one 1.5L. It is bad in design, the wine pour out in a big angle, it is impossible to pour the wine when the wine glass standing on the table.

Not looking to overindulge - rather spend more money on wine
Or you don't need a decanter at all. I just start to use decanter in recent 2 years. I will prefer breathing wine in the original bottle most of the time.

Are you in a hurry? I'm guessing <edited: finewineco > will be having a Plumm sale before end of FY, I got a good one for 70% off last year (still in a box though, haven't yet organized the post - Covid dinner parties)

  • Riedel Ouverture Red Wine Glass 4pk $33.73 ($8.43/stem) @ The Wine Collective after free VIC lockdown delivery, $10 off WINE10, 8.8% Cashrewards
  • Spiegelau Vino Grande Burgundy Glass 4pk $44 ($11/stem) @ Peters of Kensington

Anybody know any well priced specials/deals on stemware at present? I missed out on the flurry last month and hoping to pick up a twin pack of ideally Gabriel's or similar. Thanks in advance.
if you're in MEL and don't mind them being branded, then Brunswick East Wine Store have Gabriel-Glas for $28 a pair - that's $14 each :)

We also considered Grassl, but pricing here doesn't make it competitive.

I missed the post, interesting reading and looks like I need some new stems though they look a bit weird to me. Accidentally dropped my first Universal in the sink when doing a quick rinse.

I've also noticed comparing my Zaltos from many years ago that the new ones are marginally thicker, wonder if that has to do with the change in owners/profit focus.

What “vintages” were your glasses?

The early ones were around 2016? And the later ones were?
(Edit: I would be impressed if you COULD find your invoices! 😂🥂)
Recent ones were in the past year.

I was intrigued enough I was going to post on instagram as reference and weighed them - the weight was similar, but you can noticeably see and feel the difference in the stem (bowls seem the same).

That’s interesting. While using one of my (many) Zalto glasses recently, i had an almost subliminal feeling that the stem was a little thicker.

Not all of mine were bought at the same time, so it could be that my experience mirrors yours.

Will check ...... sometime! :)
