Woolworths gift card thread

There will still be the once or twice a year promo of a free third party gift card or bonus reward points that will make Only1s and perfectgiftcards viable even without using an egiftcard. A small amount is enough for me and can last me the whole year.
Agree. And I think from history it's more than just once or twice a year.

As if on cue, Mrs andye and Mstr andye1 have just received an offer for Coles GMC for Fathers Day (10 per account)
I was more thinking of the bonus points on gift cards like David Jones, JB HiFi and Rebel offers we've seen in the last 12 months. But the Coles offer you suggest may work for some, but certainly isn't as lucrative given the $5 fee you pay is offset by the points you get.

According to previous source, it was only1visa are the one rejecting ATO payment, not ato.
My suspicion is they make their money off interchange fees; and the card fee covers costs and commission to the retailer.
I believe ATO/government generally pay lower fees than other payment processors.
Woolworths' commission is probably smaller than 5%.

Will check Hurstville soon unless someone already knows the answer. Highly likely that would've been patched earlier since a lot of people there would be abusing it (which is why they only have $50 Visa gift cards there).

Come to think of it, my usual locations only had $50 but I now see $100 openly. Probably due to the patch they're confident they've stopped the loophole.

Starting Wednesday August 29, buy a $100 VISA Only gift card for $100. Save the $5.95 activation fee normally charged.

If 5% discount still working, then this is great value. If not, may be a much less useful deal, unless you need to spend money now for a credit card offer and/or can get some bonus points on these card purchases that you couldn't get elsewhere.

Question is if you go in store and buy say a $1 milk will it get 1ppd or 3ppd. If it's 1 there could be an error with the system or amex and woolies are about to change their points system.

I hope itsi the former.
