Woolworths gift card thread

Store I visited this morning only had the cards with birthday branding in stock. I tried one and it scanned at $105.95.

Self checkout operator said "it's only the ones with the champagne glasses". I showed him the catalogue and he confirmed only the ones pictured.

I guess it's possible it was a store specific IT issue, but I doubt it.
Damn it. I've been scoping my local stores for the past few days, now that I think about it I recall seeing a lot of yellow (ie birthday) ones

I tried to buy some only 1 visas at Chadstone woolworths today, the system would not accept egift cards. The manager said it was to stop money laundering.

So unlike previous deals where they give you 2000 ww points.
These simply scan at $100? At the register without a woolworths members card?

my local had around 50-55x green ones.
my edge limit only allowed for 30x, so purchased that many at least.
will return tomorrow for a second round

This is not correct, at least not at all stores. I purchased some Only1s with the orange happy birthday cover this morning. Scanned at $100 each.

I bought 10, and it took about 15 minutes to squirt out the activation receipts. Always had a fair delay in the past, but never this long before. It was a long enough wait to put me off repeating this process.

15 mins! No way !!!!

mine only took about a minute to activate per lot of 10x.
spread over 2 registers

The lady at first told me 2 mins per card, I smiled and said I've done this many times. Man, I was wrong and stood there for 20 minutes for 9 cards.

Even at 1:1 on Explorer/Edge, it's an improvement on dragon's 0.75:1 (thinks, is the extra 0.25:1 worth the time taken to key in dozens of visa card numbers?).

its 3ppd via the edge.
i've written a few macros to make data entry heaps faster.
just enter the card number & CVV, rest is hard coded. different macros for different merchants & account numbers

Since the Canberra store stopped taking them, only1s are much harder to spend than they used to be

As mentioned, birthday ones did not give me the discount. Service desk advised me of this when I tried to buy a few. All others were out of stock

took me 8 minutes to activate 3 cards.
thanks to the reports here, i was patient and didnt escalate, but man, it took a while!

After reading these comments I went and bought a few cards:

1 single card - activated as normal ~10-15 seconds
2 cards together - activation took about 2 minutes o_O

I put 10 through on a self service checkout at lunch. Stood there for about 10 minutes, escalated they said it should be max 5, but I checked a couple of cards and they were activated was happy enough but they took my name and number in case and I just walked away!
