Woolworths gift card thread

I bought a few only 1 visa gift cards today. Can't see any Woolworths points ... Can anyone confirm they've received Ooi ts for these gift card purchases?
Other than bonus points when a promotion is active, points are not awarded for these cards. That is unless something has gone wrong with their system.

Bought a few more Visa cards today with my Platinum Edge. Will head out again tomorrow to grab some more as the Amex got a bit cranky and thought there were fraudulent transactions going on. Happily used some of my egiftcards to buy some vouchers for BBQ Galore and picked up a smoker for the Gentleman as well.

Self service NOT patched :)

At least not in the 10+ stores I have visited in NSW.
Depends on the store. Some self service had been patched way back in May/June. I ended having to redo all my groceries just so that the Wish GC could work.

Qld stores I’ve visited are either out of stock (most of them), or having staff prevent the use of self serve. Being discrete & adding a few vegetables isn’t working as a staff still have to intervene.

But I’ll keep trying.

Cleaned out Sunshine and Braybrook today. Was asked for business name, address, ABN, business card because I was paying with Amex because of money laundering! Wouldn't have had to supply details if I was paying cash. Huh? But surely Amex provides a money trail, cash doesn't. Shouldn't it be the other way round?

The same issue arose for me today but the staff member was able to work around it. They did limit my purchase to 10 per card transaction ($1000). The problem with that was when I wanted to buy the other 10, AMEX thought a fraudulent transaction was occurring so declined it which is a bit annoying!

T&Cs do state max 10 per transaction.

I bought $3k on 3 $1k transactions - all went through on Amex Explorer, but full details were required every time.

Weird, after buying 40+ of those cards from just one woolies, there's like 40-50 left in one of my local qld store. Maybe the trick is to go to stores with mutliple of those machines with a stressed out manger and short staffed? :P Its true that previous mentioned methods works and staff at those self serve places I went to couldn't care less with the type of payment, but the activation time is so annoying.

Even "in person"? ;)

Wouldn't be practical to swipe $100 a time in the local AP, assuming the dragon allow you to do that. Other payment processors are either in shut down mode or not signing up to new customers. Unless someone has found a way to load those cards into eftpos..

Second inception occurred at 5.15pm today. Quicker this time. Although I encountered one store that didn't let me use self checkout, despite my best efforts. Wasn't a major problem as I used self check out at another store less than 5 kms away!

The more you do this type of thing the quicker these opportunities get shut down. Providing information on this forum is one level, but directly informing staff is just asking for things to be shut down.

It's times like this that I'm thankful for the AFF members who discretely communicate these types of opportunities/experiences by PM. I hope that this practice continues and that I can, in time, repay some of the generous tips that I have received.

I should've included that I discreetly told that staff member, who is my friend and gave me staff discount on top of it.

Cleaned out another 30x this time in Melbourne. Self service checkout seems to be working fine and faster than my Sydney locations
