Went to 3 stores in Sydney cbd and not one card left!
Seeking solace on the fact that I needed my 10k steps so all’s not lost.

Just been to Westfield here in Vic. There are two huge stands with both eBay and Visa 1 cards. I reckon there would be hundreds of each. I bought two and it took minutes to activate at self checkout. Earlier at a nearby Woolies, bought 2 bithday ones and scanned at $100. Expiry date 01/2020.

I cleared out 3 stores this morning, one of them put 55 cards through in one go, thank god it took less than 2 minutes to activate.

Nothing seems to have changed with the extensive self checkout delays experienced today. Standing at self serve for more than 5 minutes trying to have 4 cards processed. Eventually staff realised it was frozen and sent me to front desk to finalise transaction.

Just bought 20 at a manned checkout on Plat Edge. After confirming they were eligible for the promotion, the first thing the staff member asked was how was I paying for them because if it was with a gift voucher it wouldn't work. They have either been well prepped or many others have tried before me. Took about 2 minutes for them all to activate.

So the manned checkouts activate these cards quicker? Self-service still slow?
Or does payment method come into play? Last night I paid with egiftcard.

Where, may I ask? I was in WW SMelbourne this morning and asked them to check local stores: whilst I couldn't read all the addresses, the page of about 15 stores all showed zero stock. Staff said they'd sold their allocation of 40 cards on Wednesday. Yet people upthread have said the their Woolies (Sydney?) have 150 of them on display.:(
