Woolworths gift card thread

I used self service, a number of the staff told me I would not have had to wait so long for activation if I had gone to a manned counter though they may not have been aware I was using the eGift card

TY for the info. I'm pretty sure the manned ones are patched (as per previous posts), so might just straight up do this with the Edge and forgo the 5% discount w/EGCs.

wife helped me buy (1) Orange happy birthday visa1 card and it did scan as $100. I'll go back to buy more later. She did say buying one activated really fast. Also our local self service still takes e-giftcards so that is a major bonus :)

cleaned out one store.
started at another who at first wouldn't let me pay for them with amex.
said cash only and to go an ATM.

finally came around and said 5/day on amex (gaah!) and around ~150x on the shelf

I am going to wait unti lthe activation times come back to normal,

25 mins per 8-10 cards is simply impractical

I think the problem then may be finding the cards the offer seems pretty popular, although granted
the wait should throw people off as well.

Just back from local Woolies - lots of birthday V1s and nothing else - took 10 to checkout but they scanned at $105.95 - sigh. All the V1s (150x per store?) must be in the Sydney stores. Checked out WW at Spencer Street station: nothing there either.

Save some for me ..... just joking

Managed to get 100 so far. All at the 5% discount. Not enjoying the slow pace of the transactions, but looks like this will be the last hurrah.
