I had an interesting experience tonight at my local (regional) WW. I went and cleared the shelves of the $100 V1s, and headed to the self-serve. Guy helping me out told me that he wasn't sure if he should check with manager, so he did. Manager came over and asked me if I had heard of any scams involving V1 Gift Cards, and I said I hadn't. Manager asked me why I was buying so many, and I said that it was simply to use American Express but get a Visa Card that I could avoid Amex surcharges. Manager accepted this and then was super helpful!

I tried ten cards through the self serve, and then used eGCs (which didn't bother them at all). Got the dreaded 10 minute wait for the cards, but they came through just fine. Went to do a second lot, and had some of the "congratulations" cards that were showing up as $105.95. No worries, she just went out the back to get more that did scan at $100. I asked for for more, and she went and got more!

So all in all, V1s at face value purchased with eGC bought on Amex cards at a 5% discount - this might be the last time that I will do this, but it was kind of fun. The manager and the self-serve checkout staff were somewhat amused by the whole thing.

Now I'm not going to need to use my Dragon Visa Card for quite a long time!

Today there were a number of us purchasing and waiting on the system to approve the cards. ~1min per card fwiw.

Anyway, bloke next to me was using eGC of some sort but was able to put through one transaction of $300 doing so.

Could someone please enlighten me (via PM if preferred) as to how he would be achieving this?

Perhaps a preloaded eGc of value over $100... but I assumed he'd grouped them together somehow.

I tried 4 only1s just an hour a ago and it was 10 mins .

Not sure how you guys are doing 10 at a time in 10 mins using egift

ok, a bit late to the game, but still learning, and ive read every page, I promise

this inception thing,
so for this latest visa card deal.
I go to woolies, buy 10 x $100 visa cards for $1000, get my 3000 points,
use these to cashrewards 5% off, and get $105.26 egift card
go to woolies, buy the $100 visa card, have $5.26 left over
use this $100 visa card and back to CR,get, $105.26 egift
so youve made $10.52 profit in 2 transactions,

is this gist of it?
so after a decent fiddling around 10% return
with the draw back being, 10 cards at woolies is being paid with 10 visa cards which is a pain in the butt
plus the waiting time for egifts to arrive into inbox
plus managing all the cards

David Jones, Rebel and JBHiFi offers were much better value if you could use eWISH card (which was much easier previously).

Pretty much. Not to mention having to drive around to many stores looking for stock, hoping that the store hasn't had a software upgrade preventing the use of egiftcards, hoping that the staff have a life and will not stop you from buying multiple cards and let you use egiftcards.

I picked up 4 at 11pm..... Guy want me to go to counter I sternly told him no wanted in self checkout....... Made him tick off one card at a time....2 minutes done!
Missed using new Diners card.... As only arrived after today and cash rewards activation to long.....I hide the cards this afternoon for pickup tonight

Today I bought 3, and asked the guy nicely. If he would be fine to scan them individually. He was fine.

Then I went back and brought 10 more and he told me. To go to manned ...
