Woolworths gift card thread

so what is the "loophole" in regards to self checkout vs manned checkout?

there is no difference unless its to monitor how many you buy or clog up the checkout machines
There is no loophole.

Self check out you do not have to get staff involved or waste their time.
Manned you must get staff to do it for you.

Both have a limit of 4, unless in some cases IF the staff knows how, to by pass the only 4 per transaction limit. I went to manned one, She (staff) said I'll try and scan all in one go, system stopped her at 4, she asked her supervisor who was behind her. She said just scan until the system says stop or no more and do it in another transaction.

We do not know why some want you to go to manned some to go to Self. Fraud? to Control what they sell? To make sure each card is scanned correctly? So that no troubles occur later on? Who knows.

can confirm 10+ cards you still get the 2000 points

I accidentally put 11 through on one woolworths card and I got the 2000 pts

With the help of Mrs 2tall4Y, have checked Central (Metro), Central Park, Haymarket and Redfern over the past 24 hours, and none had any $100 cards.

Just checked at Metcenter Sydney CBD store. Heaps of $50 in stock. Attendant said that's all they had and never had supply of $100s.
Glad I know not to try Town Hall.
Small store on York Street had none either.
Back to the office empty handed for me.

Just did a thorough walk-through of Woolies Town Hall (Sydney), and while they had a couple of banners advertising the $100 cards, only $50 cards left in stock :(

Your point about not searching in the city rings true indeed, Dr Ralph.

Not false advertising at all.

Catalogue specifically states 'not all products on this page available at all stores.'

I've seen over 500 cards available so far today in the stores I have visited.

Increase your search radius is my advice. I'd be searching the suburbs, not the city.

Ring up all woolies.. if have stock as them to hold it for you simple!

Seems like they can do that and this DID happen

Couldn't get out yesterday (work/kids) but hit 5 stores today and collected only 12 (all from one store). As others have reported, the attendant looking after the self serve asked me to go to the manned check out. The person at the manned check out asked how many and said she can't do 12. She then checked with supervisor and was told it is ok (this surprised me). Register only let her do 4 at a time - fine with me as I bought $423.80 gift cards expecting to use self check outs. 5 people queued behind me when I left, I don't understand why they wanted me at manned checkout. All points have posted to WR account.
I have a friend who works at a business which sells these cards, he is trying to source some to try at WW early next week, just need a WW which will let me activate my own cards!

Woolworths Marketfair Campbelltown = 0 today

Woolworths Rosemeadow = 30 today

Distance of 5kms between the stores.

Out of interest are people spreading over multiple woollies accounts or tanking one account to keep spend targets down?

The only practical way for me to do this is if there are stocks at the time I do my normal Woolworths shop for the week and I just use the one Woolworths Rewards account and use one of the other accounts to do my shopping, thereby keeping the targets low for the accounts and only causing the high target problem for one account.

Just noticed when you check the account balance of the VISA ONLY cards online that for a card I purchased yesterday (22/1/17) it shows the card being purchased the day before (21/1/2017).

Something to do with why they say wait 24 hours before use?

So I went back to one store and fixed the error they made by not activating one... however now find that another one also hasn't been activated however I have a receipt that says all ok. Annoyingly, it's over an hours drive away ðŸ

Found a few more at my local tonight and that's me done for this promo. Only 16 cards but at 4pts/$1 I can't complain!

Anyone tried using them online for purchase within the 24hrs. I want to do an online transaction, but a bit concerned about the "don't use within 24hrs", although I have used almost immediately in store?

Have experienced no issues with this myself

Edit: and I can imagine woolies giving you a refund if anything went wrong.

No problems here.

Bought 8 today at lunch time; churned and burned by the afternoon.

I've been using these cards for a while now as my "non-Amex" option and have never encountered any problems using within the 24 hour window

Went to 6 places all had zero.

Randomly dropped into a small woolworths

Had 30. Got very excited. Ordered enough e-cards.

Amazing ly the cards came in two hours.
Went back

Took two to test if I could do multiple in one transaction

Realized I forgot my rewards card.... Grrrr will have to go back tomorrow. Hope they're still there
