Woolworths gift card thread

2ppd converts to 1FFP , are you saying for krisflyer / Asiamiles ? or just qantas/velocity
Off-topic, sry. The ANZ bonus is only applicable to Velocity transfers.
- Converting 2 ANZ reward points direct to KF only earns 0.666 KF/AM.
- Bear in mind the 1.5 Velocity points would convert to 0.96 KF miles.
Not as good as some of the devalued Amex @ 1 or 1.5, but Amex isnt accepted everywhere.

Hmmm, bought about $2000 worth of Only1 gift cards around the start of the year i think it was and have been paying of bills and rates etc... Anyway about a week ago i opened up the next $100 card and went to pay and came up refused, looked it up on the Only1 website and looks like the $100 had been loaded up in December and spent the next day... Opened up all of the cardboard packaging of about 7-8 cards i had left and went to the site to check and a total of 3 had been loaded up and spent, all around that 3/12/18 on and 4/12/18 spent... And I'm in Perth and these were spent at like Bunnings, Myer and David Jones in Melbourne...

Was thinking 'What the Hell' at this point as it was looking like they were going to be some expensive KF points from my Platinum Edge spend!!!

So just gotten off the phone after about an hour to America where i was put through to their dispute resolution team and had to read of the card numbers and the guy who was nice enough was putting the numbers in the system, writing notes and generating claim forms for each of the cards... Will email them to me and I have to fill out claim forms and return with 10 business days... Will see what happens... Not sure if anyone else has had something like this happen to them??

sorry to hear about the above situation
kinda feel guilty posting this not so important question

mine are all declining, im not sure if Ive actually had any accepted, I have a feeling I had 2 accepted a month ago or so,and now its not working

Sorry to hear of this.

Did you check them online within 48 hours of purchase?

I know I got into a habit of checking everyone of mine to make sure there wasn't a problem loading them.

No, tried to check the cash register statements to see they had all activated but just put them away to open up as i needed to pay bills etc, but will probably do that from now on if I buy any more of them...

WARNING RE EBAY GIFT CARDS:

I purchased a number of these during the last promo. I checked each card to make sure it was activated. I also checked online to see that the credit was showing for each card.

I've tried to use cards tonight to make a purchase. One of the cards says that it has no value at all. Currenctly contacting Ebay to look into the issue.

that is a worry. I have quite a few too and I have always thought the codes are too easy to "hack" just via trial and error since ebay doesn't have any sort of captcha verification. I'm sure some smart script writers can write a script to try and redeem 100s of codes per minute. I need to think of a way to load them into my account with 1 cent purchases

I'm planning to make a ~$5000 purchase at David Jones. My options are:

1. Buy online via Qantas mall. 5 points per $1, plus 1 per $1 on my credit card = 30,000
2. Wait for the next DJs gift card deal at Woolworths, buy 50 $100 gifts cards at 2,000 (870) points each, plus 1.5 per $1 on my Edge = 51,000

Am I missing anything? Has anyone tried to make a large purchase at DJs with gift cards alone? Would you foresee any major issues?

Thanks!

I have in the past, been able to convert smaller gift cards into a larger one at the service desk, since expiry dates is not an issue anymore. The last time I did this was mid last year, not sure if things have changed.

If you are able to do this, then there is nothing stopping you from combining into 10x$500 cards(or larger) and then ordering online via Cashrewards.
While qantasmall does not give points if you pay by gift cards, Cashrewards does.

There used to be a limit on david jones online on how many cards you can redeem per purchase, I'm not sure if that is still the case now.

Oh nice - I had been planning to do an in store purchase but if I can consolidate the gift cards and buy through cashrewards that would be even better!

Knock me over with a feather!

The Ette
was cleaning out drawers and found 3 x $500 Big W Gift Cards I bought in Mar 2016 at 10% Discount - way past expiry date - called Everdaygiftcards on 1300 665 249 and ZERO hesitation in bringing them back to life with new 31 May 2020 expiration date - BINGO - Dan's here I come!
