Woolworths gift card thread

Not sure of the precise reasons that mine have all happened smoothly.

A couple of data points:

1) I have used a different credit card (VISA ONLY) to purchase each WISH card.

2) I have purchased over 200 WISH cards during the last year via the same account.

3) All WISH cards since Friday have been for the same amount ($105.26).
Ditto, ditto and ditto.

Any one able to confirm the above yet???

We need a guinea pig :)

I've only purchased 10 cards so far today and have used a so far untouched EDR account for these purchases. I've set the savings to 'Christmas' so they don't pay out just yet.

I'm not sure it is related to T&C enforcement (sort of) on the Visa1 deal, but e-wish gift cards seem to be frozen too. I ordered some yesterday and they haven't been delivered.

Given the "please allow 24 hours for delivery" I'm unimpressed that no e-gift cards have been delivered more than 25 hours later.

I ordered last Wednesday......Thursday I rang and was advised it was a credit card check, was advised 2hrs......Friday I rang again and advised they would push through....they did an hour later but unfortunately the card was sent with no number or pin.....rang Saturday and refused to get off the phone...they apologised and confirmed there is a problem and said they would send a $50 card immediately as a good well gesture.....Sunday and I am still waiting for both.....they are not going to like the call Monday.

I have found point 3 to be accurate for me. When I placed orders for wish cards of values that I have previously ordered - they are delivered very quickly.
I have always used the same platinum edge - so for me Im finding its the gift card value and wether you have previously ordered that value to be the determining factor in delivery time

Whats the number to call? Im 48 hours waiting so its a phone call time for me too

Give them my regards. ;)

I am showing my inexperience....silly me was ordering $100 ones:oops: didn't even think to make the amount $105.26.

To give some more feedback, my wish cards were coming through very fast

It's not a huge problem. It just means that you will be left with a small amount on the VISA ONLY card which you will need to spend somewhere else.

The $105.26 gets rid of the $100 credit on the VISA ONLY card completely.

Hi All, I am new to all this and started following this site about a week ago, you guys/gals rock! I only saw this thread yesterday so quickly ordered some WISH Cards last night about 11pm 4 x $500 through CashRewards and I had them this morning. First time ever ordering them.

Dr. Ralph when you say churn your VISA do you mean you can use the Only1 $100 Visa's to buy more eWish Cards?

point 3) Above, can you please explain why $105.26 and not $105.95?

Also if they cost you $105.26 why not get the eWISH cards at 4 x $105.26 = $421.04 so you could buy 4 at once rather than 1 at a time?

Yes.

point 3) Above, can you please explain why $105.26 and not $105.95?

Because $105.26 WISH card is exactly a $100 VISA ONLY card. Meaning nothing is left over.

If you purchased a $105.95 WISH card you could not use your $100 VISA ONLY card as the payment for the $105.95 WISH card would cost more than the value you have on your $100 VISA ONLY card.

Also if they cost you $105.26 why not get the eWISH cards at 4 x $105.26 = $421.04 so you could buy 4 at once rather than 1 at a time?

Because you cannot split payment on the WISH card site. $105.26 WISH = 1 x $100 VISA ONLY card.

If I wanted to buy a $105.95 WISH card I would have to use a different payment method to the $100 VISA ONLY cards.

If you didn't want to purchase the WISH cards with your VISA ONLY cards then I would purchase a $423.80 WISH card ($105.95 x 4). This means the one WISH card with $423.80 on it would be used in one purchase of 4 x $100 VISA ONLY cards.

None of this is mandatory. You can purchase these cards however you like. I purchase in a particular format to suit my needs.

Thanks for the reply but here are 2 things I still do not understand.

1). How do you get $105.26? I bought 10 today using my WISH and they cost $105.95 each. Why the $0.69 difference in cost?

2). How do you buy a $105.26 WISH card with a $100 VISA ONLY card if as you say you cannot split payments on the WISH site?

$105.26 is the amount I place onto the WISH card. Purchase a $105.26 WISH card from the WISH card site. You can purchase them for any amount you like.

You may be confused between the WISH card value and the VISA ONLY card value and/or purchase price.

It may be worth you reading back over the past few pages of messages in this thread to assist you to understand.

A $105.26 WISH card costs exactly $100. You have $100 value on your VISA ONLY card. There is no need to split a purchase for a $105.26 WISH card purchase when you use a 1 x $100 VISA ONLY card.

Again: None of this is mandatory. You can purchase these cards however you like. I purchase in a particular format to suit my needs. I'm not claiming my way is the only way or the best way to do this.

I purchased ten $105.26 Wish cards last night. Ten confirmation emails and tax invoices have been received along with nine gift cards. Not sure where the last one is.

Gmail kindly groups mine and makes them easy to miss, but I also have had odd experiences where 4/5 would come through and the last be delayed for a little while. I tried splitting 50/50 cash rewards portal and RAC(WA) portal and it didn't make much difference.

Re: the $105.26 method, I was wondering how long it would take for this to surface. Has been on OzB for a few days but is truly inception if there ever was. I wonder how long it will be until WOW BELLA VISTA block 4645-560 visas..

In Gmail under Settings there is an option Conversation View OFF so they don't get grouped.

I have seen the term inception used a few times in threads and I know what it means in English but what do you guys mean by it? The first use of the card?

As I grow older I'm becoming a fan of the Sunday drive. Today I passed a sign that said 20 is the limit. ;)

On a completely unrelated matter ;) a service desk manager at my local stylised apple retailer has confirmed that stylised apple HQ has put a halt on the restocking of the $100 per kilo apples. ;)

In my experience the limit is $1000. That means 9 cards at a time IS possible. This DOES require intervention though.

I was speaking about transactions that you can do entirely yourself.

The self service machines I have used if GC goes over $500 have definitely flagged the flashing light, and orange warning appears on screen making no action possible till the operator clears it. They can approve the fifth or more cards though.
