Woolworths gift card thread

5 x $500 is still $2500. And this just isn't going to be approved easily in any store. Best potential would be to buy these and then use them t o purchase the Coles Vanilla cards also on special this week.
why wouldn't it be ? Think you're getting scammed or something?

Tried to buy a $200 everyone twice this afternoon and neither loaded correctly. The Woolworths team refunded both straight away, which seem to have landed in account okay, but will be interesting to see what happens points wise. Keep an eye out if you are buying one this evening.

Keen to hear of any reports of whether the points are awarded instantly for the perfect gift card variable load cards.

Yes, not a good idea to go over $2k at a register, unless you really want to meet the manager

Should be able to update in about 30 mins, if they have any on the rack

I tried to buy 4 x $500 Everywhere cards last Saturday night but was told a $2000 purchase required manager approval and no manager was available. I was able to buy 3 ($1500) in one transaction. They offered to sell me the fourth in another transaction but I declined as bonus points are only awarded on one transaction per day (I went back Sunday morning to get it). I did wonder later whether I should have asked for the fourth card to be loaded with $499 so that the total of the transaction was $1999.

Not for me just now. I only remembered to check halfway through my 5 x $500 purchase and saw that the points hadn't awarded automatically. Manager dude said I'd have to call up.

Just shows how effective the control is doesn't it.... WW advertise up to 2.5k in one txn but have a quiet up to 2k policy before manager approval, but can split it into multiple transactions to avoid it.

I get the reason behind it and don't want people to be victimised by scammers, maybe what we need is an "I know what I'm doing" card for us regulars

Don't do this though. if you're purchasing for points. Points would only be awarded on the first transaction for that day.

Just bought 2x500 variables now, no points awarded, not even base

I've seen that in the T&C's but it has never been enforced for me, I regularly do multiple purchases in a day. Would be interested if it's ever been an issue for anyone

Definitely enforced for the last ultimate card deal.
Yes, agree with the good Dr. Despite my refunds posted above, full points credited on the first purchase, only base points on the second.

Plus if you need to chase it up (as is more and more frequent these days) then you will need to rely on the t&c's.

It's always been enforced IME. Last time it happened to me, in my ignorance of the T&Cs, I made multiple purchases on the same day and received points for the only the first. I called up and explained that the checkout operator "forced" me to do multiple transactions to keep the transaction below $2k, and was manually credited the points [edit to add]: so that could be interpreted as not being enforced I suppose :) ).

Really? Last time I asked about this the consensus was not enforced:

I do however absolutely concur that due to the breakdown of the automated crediting of points at EDR, we are probably in a very different position now

My purchase at that time was done in one transaction, albeit with severe labour pains, but @Dr Ralph seems to have had points credited for multiple transactions on the same day then.

Enforcement may be random, but I don't wish to find out. I just called about getting the points asap but was told to wait 14 days. Too late for me as I need a few points to get QF PC. This not auto-crediting is very annoying.
