Woolworths gift card thread

Definitely not what I indicated at all.

I will explicitly confirm again that for the ultimate card offer which finished yesterday the 1 transaction per day was being enforced.
Sorry, I was referring to your post (#4262) from March last year (you've chopped off the last bit of my quote!!)

I tried to buy 4 x $500 Everywhere cards last Saturday night but was told a $2000 purchase required manager approval and no manager was available. I was able to buy 3 ($1500) in one transaction. They offered to sell me the fourth in another transaction but I declined as bonus points are only awarded on one transaction per day (I went back Sunday morning to get it). I did wonder later whether I should have asked for the fourth card to be loaded with $499 so that the total of the transaction was $1999.
At least that is better than my experience.
I was not even able to buy 2X $500 cards in one go.
Really really pathetic.

Hopefully Woolies has a bonus sale on gift cards to pay our taxes to the ATO (i.e. iTunes) real soon 😂

There is a little known loophole that allows you to do two transactions in a day provided one is at a Woolworths Metro. I first observed this in October and it was confirmed to still work on Friday during the 20x on Ultimate Everyone promotion. Not particularly useful but worth keeping in mind if you live or work near a Metro store.

I would be very curious if this would work at other Woolworths branded venues such as Woolworth branded gas stations (i.e. some Ampol and Caltex stations)

Apart from the one transaction limit, does this allow you to get around the daily cap on the number of gift cards?

Good question. I want to test this but I don't need any of the gift cards from the next few promotions. If 20x on Apple gift cards returns next month I will try it then and report back.

Sadly, petrol stations are always excluded from these promotions.

From Wednesday March 22:

10x points on Eftpos pre-load cards (including variables, which may help with fees). Note the reduced maximum of 5 cards per transaction.

Given the Qantas DSC offer, I'm considering these to top up my QF points, which is only of use if they actually convert quickly.
My maths says it's a $7.95 cost for 5000 WWR = 2500 QFFP = give or take 0.3c/p. Does that sound right?
Could net 75k points over the rest of the promo period but difficult without a way of cashing out the cards quickly. Not comfortable depositing $12.5k with any gift card provider.

Perfect gift card variable just purchased. Bonus points awarded instantly.
Do you mean that the points were visible on the screen at the time of purchase?

Because that did not happen for me, again, today at two ACT stores. I didn't proceed with the purchase.

yes and no, i think
2500QFFP=$7.95 + $25 (woolworths dollars forgone)

I was told that a $2000+ purchase would require a tax file number or an ABN 😲, along with the manager's approval, so I think this is a good work around but you'd need to account for the $7.95 fee too so load $490 per card or some such.
