Woolworths gift card thread

That offer is at Big W but if you'd prefer Woolworths, they're currently offering 20x points on Ultimate Him gift cards which can be exchanged for Uber gift cards.
Oh, good to know, I was hoping to buy some more uber credit but was going to avoid big w after the failure to give points directly this week. Will pick up an $100 ultimate him instead

That's what I thought too but Uber is not shown as a participating retailer on the card:

$50 Uber GCs at big W this week wouldn't allow payment via everyday pay (even with no active gift cards in my account) and as a cherry on top, the points did not post automatically. Another follow up to do :(
Perhaps Big W takes the full seven business days to post. Woolworths posted instantly for me.

Nope. Big W and Woolworths should be instant. If it does show at the cash register don't complete the purchase has been my advice.

I was wary that I'd spend all this money on the gift cards and then be stuck with them if I couldn't use them with Uber.
The list of available stores changes all the time. Even if it's listed today that doesn't mean it will still be listed at a future date/time.

There are a number of posts about transitional arrangements for merchants previously listed on earlier versions of these cards.

That has been my experience. Today I went in to buy $100 in Apple Gift Cards at Big W before the 20x points expired and after the purchase I didn't notice the usual prompt that 2000 points were converted over to QFF as expected. A quick check of the Rewards app shows a 0 point transaction. Will follow up with Woolies in a week if I don't see the points land since the transaction is clearly listed in the app as having taken placed during the promo.

I have bought three Ultimate Him cards this week and exchanged them for Uber gift cards. None of the cards featured Uber's logo.

Big W seems to have botched this one. I've received no less than a dozen reports from people who bought Apple/Uber cards this week that the points weren't credited instantly. Some received theirs within a couple of hours. If you didn't receive them instantly, call Everyday Rewards because there's a good chance they'll offer you some "good will" points for the inconvenience.

I don't like the look of this new display stand. Strongly suggests that an EFTPOS terminal will be directly installed.
What will be the downsides of this new arrangement?

If it helps discourage fraud, I'd be a very happy camper. Last round of Apple Gift Cards I got were all frauds. Annoying to have to get them refunded.

I wouldn't proceed with the transaction if the points aren't evident at the point of sale. They will manually credit the points but call it "good will" which may not always be provided. I was told that my second and most recent need for "good will" will be the last time it will be offered. So I won't proceed with any transaction if it means I need to call up.

I'll wait the 7 days. It is very clear from the advert (which I screenshotted) that it's 20x the points and if they don't honour such a request they are violating common law by making a misrepresentation of the offer, and potentially Australian consumer law (if such a thing even exists?)

I don't quite understand how you won't proceed with the transaction if points aren't evident at point of sale?

So you mean your want the bonus points to drop into your account immediately once you've scanned your EDR or FB and scanned the gift cards...... Yet haven't actually paid for the gift cards?
Do you just wait n check your app then and there?

Sorry if I'm completely misunderstanding the scenario.

Thanks
